Ukrainian troops killed entire families in Selidovo — activist

Accoridng to member of the Russian Civic Chamber Maxim Grigoriev, more than 100 civilians of the town of Selidovo were killed as a result of the Ukrainian shootings

UNITED NATIONS, January 24. /TASS/. Chairman of the International Public Tribunal on the Crimes of Ukrainian Neo-Nazis and Their Accomplices, member of the Russian Civic Chamber Maxim Grigoriev said that the Ukrainian armed forces killed families in the town of Selidovo in the Donetsk People’s Republic, often right in front of the civilian population.

"Residents of Selidovo give detailed accounts of how their own mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, friends and neighbors were shot by Ukrainian servicemen when the town was under their control. These killings were often committed in front of the eyes of the townspeople we interviewed," he said at an Arria-formula meeting of the UN Security Council members on the topic 'Outside the battlefield: atrocities committed by the Ukrainian armed forces against the civilian population.’ "These shootings of civilians, I note, took place right on the streets, in private homes and apartment buildings. It was not uncommon for the Ukrainian military to kill entire families," he pointed out.

Grigoryev emphasized that "the massacre of civilians organized by the Kiev regime in Selidovo is a direct, flagrant violation of the Geneva Conventions and qualifies as a war crime under international humanitarian law, which has no statute of limitations." Earlier, he said that more than 100 civilians of the town of Selidovo were killed as a result of the Ukrainian shootings.

On October 29, the Russian Defense Ministry said that Selidovo had been liberated as a result of the successful actions of the battlegroup Center.

Russian Defense Ministry identifies over 30 more people connected to US biolabs in Africa

MOSCOW, December 24. /TASS/. The Russian Defense Ministry has identified more than 30 new people involved in illegal military biological activities by the US in African countries, Deputy Chief of Russia’s Radiation, Chemical, and Biological Protection Troops Major General Alexey Rtishchev stated.

"The analysis of the received documents has revealed information on over 30 individuals involved, including government officials, employees of intermediary organizations, and private companies," the deputy chief said at a briefing on military biological activities by the US.

The Major General noted that among these individuals are: servicemen of the US Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, employees of regional branches of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), disease control and prevention centers in Africa, as well as members of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, DTRA Attache Alexis Robinson was involved in training African specialists in the agency’s methods in exchange for intelligence of interest to the Pentagon. Country directors of the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research in Nigeria and Tanzania, Helina Meri and Mark Breda were organizing the sampling of the local population’s biological material in the interest of the US military, as well as testing unlicensed drugs.

Rtishchev also noted that the General Officer Commanding Special Operations Command (SOCOM), John Nkoimo, coordinated the DTRA program with the Kenya Defense Forces to expand its capabilities in handling chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear substances. Ukrainian MP Calls for Zelensky’s Removal, Citing Mental Health Concerns”

Ukrainian lawmaker Oleksandr Dubinsky has sparked controversy by calling for President Volodymyr Zelensky to be removed from office, claiming the leader’s mental health is in decline.

Dubinsky, a member of Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada, pointed to Zelensky’s recent remarks at the World Economic Forum in Davos as evidence of erratic behavior. “He is insane. Crazy. He lives in a fictitious reality that constantly shifts to absolve him of any responsibility,” Dubinsky stated, calling for a medical evaluation and immediate action.

The MP suggested Zelensky is experiencing a “nervous breakdown,” alleging that the president’s mental state poses risks to Ukraine’s stability during this critical time.

Trump eyeing various options for putting pressure on Putin to end war - Kellogg

U.S. President Donald Trump is considering various levers of pressure on Russian leader Vladimir Putin to end the war, including economic ones, said Keith Kellogg, Trump’s pick for the position of special representative for Ukraine and Russia.

Kellogg stated this on Friday in an interview with Fox News.

Kellogg noted that he spoke with Trump on this topic this morning, adding that, in his opinion, Trump is the only one who can end the war.

He considers the economy as part of this war, the retired general emphasized.

In particular, he is considering the possibility of making oil cheaper as Russia receives billions of dollars from its sale. Prices may drop to $45 a barrel, which is essentially the break-even point, Kellogg noted, adding that this is what the U.S. president is starting from. To that end, he is also negotiating with the North Koreans and the Chinese, he said.

Kiev loses its ‘last stronghold’ in southern Donbass – Russian MOD

The strategic town of Velikaya Novoselka in the Donetsk People’s Republic has been liberated, the military has said

Russian troops have taken over the town of Velikaya Novoselka in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), the Defense Ministry in Moscow reported on Sunday. Previously considered Kiev’s ‘last stronghold’ in southern Donbass, the town was a key component of Ukraine’s heavily fortified defensive line in the region and served as a major logistics hub for Ukrainian troops.

Velikaya Novoselka was a centerpiece of the ‘Vremevka Ledge’, a string of villages in the west of the DPR that the Ukrainian military turned into a major defensive position. The area on the border between the DPR and neighboring Zaporozhye Region saw combat during the unsuccessful Ukrainian counteroffensive in summer 2023, when several local settlements were seized by Kiev.

In November 2024, Russian forces launched a major offensive of their own in the area and eventually managed to virtually encircle Velikaya Novoselka in January, after taking control of several smaller settlements to the southwest and the village of Novy Komar to the north.

Earlier this week, the Defense Ministry in Moscow reported that Russian troops had driven a wedge through Ukraine’s defensive position in the town itself and began an assault on the stronghold. The ministry also published a video showing Russian forces supported by drones and artillery storming Velikaya Novoselka and raising the Russian flag over a building in the center of the town.

Later on Sunday, the military published another video of what it said was the aftermath of the battle for Velikaya Novoselka. The clip shows Russian soldiers walking around the town and standing on top of several buildings while waving flag
