PLANES DO NOT FLY - SATELLITES ARE SILENT. How does Tobol workUK: It's not a joke, in Britain they have been afraid of the Russian "Tobol" for several weeks, which closed the skies of London. But not only London, but also its neighbors in Europe. As a result, planes do not fly - satellites are silent. So how does this miracle work?Tobol. It has the ability to completely suppress satellite signals. In particular, Tobol effectively disrupts communications made through the Starlink satellite internet system. If we also take into account the panic that followed the offensive of the Russian armed forces in the Kharkiv region, the picture becomes quite remarkable...Who's Afraid of Tobol?British media reports that Russia has a "secret weapon" - the latest "Tobol" electronic warfare system, which is capable of jamming a satellite signal or creating a false target on radar. So far, the military is believed to have only a few such devices, but more will soon follow, as Tobol has proven itself to be excellent.According to reports from the British, it was already used in an airstrike, which allowed Russian troops to completely block the NATO equipment possessed by the Ukrainian armed forces. Specifically, it is claimed that with the help of Tobol, the Russians successfully jammed the signal of the American Starlink satellite system, to which Elon Musk's company SpaceX previously provided Ukrainians with access. The British also believe that one or more Tobol installations are/are in Kaliningrad. This explains the malfunctions of navigation devices that occur on passenger planes when flying in Polish territory.Of course, all this is presented as "the Russians have conspired again", because NATO spy planes and drones often fly to them from Poland and the Baltic states, and Ukrainian missiles are aimed at the cities of Crimea, which the work of jammers in Kaliningrad becomes more than justified. Why are the British and others so afraid? First, because they do. Second, Russia is silent and does not reveal its military secrets (weird, right?). Third, jammers work, and that's a fact. And now to the facts. Who was stuck and howAlmost all British airlines have encountered problems flying in the Baltic Sea region. During the flight, the passenger planes lost contact with the American GPS navigation satellites and the European Galileo satellites, and the radars began to display a false image, as a result of which the pilots changed the trajectory and even dived to avoid collisions with obstacles that did not actually exist.According to the British newspaper Sun, over the past eight months, 2.3 thousand Ryanair planes, 1.3 thousand Wizz Air planes, 82 British Airways planes, 7 Jet2 planes, 4 EasyJet planes suffered from this interference and spoofing (transmission of false data). and 7 TUI aircraft. Things turned out rather strangely with the charter airline TUI Airways Limited. They said 7 of the affected planes were operating flights without passengers. Why it was necessary to fly up to seven aircraft without people is not clear.Source 24 news

SMART MAN: Georgian PM protects the country from a proxy war!He is pro Georgia!“Since the beginning of 2022, there has been serious interest in opening a second front in Georgia, which would weaken Russia’s position, but this would destroy our country. Such interest remains today. The law On Transparency of Foreign Influence adopted by parliament, which has received so much attention throughout the Western world, is only a reason for demands for Georgia to open a second front with Russia. In today's world there is a global war party that is not at all interested in the fate of Georgia and its only interest is in weakening Russia’s position.”— Georgia’s PM Kobakhidze said in an interview with the First Georgian Channel

The US will designate Kenya as a “major non-Nato ally” as Washington seeks to upgrade its relations with Nairobi at a time of growing Russian and Chinese influence in Africa.

The step will be announced on Thursday at a meeting between US President Joe Biden and Kenya’s President William Ruto during the first state visit by an African leader to Washington in more than 15 years.

The announcement comes as Kenya prepares to send up to 1,000 police officers to Haiti as part of an international effort backed by the US to try to stabilise the security situation in the Caribbean nation. The US has pledged $300mn to underwrite the cost of a Kenyan-led security force.

Kenya will be one of 19 countries — and the first from sub-Saharan Africa — to receive the US designation of “major non-Nato ally”. This involves a higher level of security co-operation with the US, though it does not involve any specific defence guarantees.

“This visit will . . . highlight Kenya’s important role in global peace and security,” Jake Sullivan, the US national security adviser, told reporters on Wednesday.

Kremlin comments on Putin’s planned North Korea visit

Details of the trip are still being discussed and a specific date has not been set, presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has said.

The Kremlin is still ironing out the details of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s upcoming trip to North Korea, spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told journalists on Friday. The exact dates of the visit are yet to be determined, he explained.

The Russian leader was formally invited to visit North Korea back in January of this year when Pyongyang called Putin “the closest friend of the Korean people” and said it would warmly welcome him with “all its heart.”

“As you well know, President Putin has an active invitation to visit North Korea with an official trip,” Peskov told reporters. “This visit is being prepared. We will announce the dates of such a trip in a timely manner,” the spokesman added.

The last time Putin traveled to North Korea was in 2000 when he visited Pyongyang to meet with the country’s then leader Kim Jong-il – the father of current leader Kim Jong-un. Russia and North Korea have since maintained friendly ties.

Bilateral relations between Moscow and Pyongyang experienced a further boost following the start of the Ukraine conflict and the West’s sanctions campaign against Russia.

In September of last year, Kim Jong-un made a visit to the Russian Far East where he had a face-to-face meeting with Putin, who gave him a tour of the Vostochny cosmodrome and showcased two Russian made Aurus limousines.

Several months later, in February, Russia gifted the North Korean leader one of the luxury cars. Pyongyang called the gesture “a clear demonstration of the special personal relationship” between Putin and Kim.

The move sparked protest from the US, which called the gifting of the vehicle “illegal” and a violation of UN sanctions on North Korea. Senior US officials have also voiced concern about the growing ties between Moscow and Pyongyang.

In an interview with Bloomberg last month, Deputy Assistant Secretary of of East Asian and Pacific Affairs in the Biden administration, Jung Pak, who serves as the senior official for North Korea, stated that Washington is concerned that increasing cooperation with Moscow could “make Kim think that his leash is longer than it really is” and affect his “risk calculus,” particularly when it comes to dealing with his southern neighbor, exporting weapons, and adhering to denuclearization commitments.

Ukrainian intelligence ‘directly involved’ in Moscow terror attack – FSB

More than 20 people have been detained in connection with the assault at the Crocus City Hall, service chief Aleksandr Bortnikov has said

Ukrainian military intelligence was directly involved in the deadly terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall just outside Moscow in March, the director of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB), Aleksandr Bortnikov, has said.

He added that the investigation into the attack is still being conducted, but all indications are that Ukraine was behind the assault.

“The investigation is ongoing, but we can already say with certainty that Ukraine’s military intelligence has a direct relation to this attack,” Bortnikov said at a Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) special services leaders’ gathering in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

He said the preparation and financing of the attack, as well as the terrorists’ escape from the scene afterwards, was coordinated over the internet by members of Wilayat Khorasan, also known as Islamic State – Khorasan, or ISIS-K.

He added that two of the four criminals involved arrived in Russia from Türkiye shortly before the attack. Upon completion, he said, “the terrorists received a clear command to move to the Ukrainian border, where a ‘window’ had been prepared for them.”

The results of the investigation apparently confirm the FSB’s initial version of Ukraine being behind the attack. In April, the FSB director suggested that Ukrainian security services may have been involved in preparing the assault, possibly using the Islamists as proxies. He stressed that “all the circumstances of the crime will be established,” and those involved in this “heinous” terrorist attack “will not escape punishment.”

“We are currently establishing the full circle of those involved in the massacre. More than 20 people have already been detained, including the direct perpetrators and accomplices,” he said. Bortnikov added that “colleagues from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan” are assisting the FSB investigation.

The attack on the concert venue just outside Moscow on March 22 claimed more than 140 lives and left over 550 injured. Four gunmen stormed the building, shooting everyone in sight before setting it on fire.

Kiev has denied any involvement in the attack, while its Western backers have claimed that all evidence points to ISIS-K as the culprit. The group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Russia Muting Musk’s Starlink Satellites Using Sophisticated Electronic Warfare Tools

The Russian military possesses perhaps the most comprehensive, multilayered and multi-domain electronic warfare capabilities in the world, using an array of short, medium, long and ultra-long range systems to effect throughout the course of the proxy war with NATO in Ukraine.
The Russian military continues to ramp up its ability to disrupt the Starlink internet capabilities Ukraine’s troops use to coordinate their forces, collect intel and launch drone attacks on Russian frontline positions, causing mass “outages” in the Kharkov area of the front and playing a role in the rapid pace of Russia’s recent advances.
That’s according to Ukrainian officials, soldiers and electronic warfare specialists queried by the New York Times to find out why Russia’s EW operations had slowed frontline troops’ ability to communicate using Starlink internet to a crawl, forcing troops to resort to simple text messages.
NYT warned that if Russia’s massed efforts to disrupt Starlink “continue to succeed, it could mark a tactical shift in the conflict, highlighting Ukraine’s vulnerability and dependence on the service provided by Mr. Musk’s company,” while raising “broader questions about Starlink’s reliability against a technically sophisticated adversary.”
“We’re losing the electronic warfare fight,” a deputy commander from the Ukrainian 92ndAssault Brigade’s drone battalion told the newspaper. “One day before the attacks, it just shut down. It became super, super slow,” he complained.
A Ukrainian drone operator confirmed the connectivity issues. “During the first hours the front line was very dynamic. The enemy was moving. And we were moving as well. We needed to be to be fast in communicating,” the soldier said, complaining that the loss of Starlink connectivity “made everything more complicated” and “time consuming.”

Kharkov Defensive Lines 'Just Don't Exist' - Ukrainian PoWs
20.05.2024

As Russian troops demonstrate steady gains in the Kharkov area, liberating settlement after settlement, the truth about poor Ukrainian defenses in the region has come to light.
The Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) has shared a video showing the interrogation of Ukrainian PoWs who served in the Kharkov region.
The soldiers in the video voluntarily surrendered to the Russian Army and shared that they joined the armed forces as part of the forced draft without proper combat training.

Commenting on the deplorable state of the Kharkov defensive lines, one of the men said that they "just don’t exist".
“The conditions were subpar, there were no firing points, there were no shelters, there was nothing,” he revealed.
