Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky is planning to dismiss Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and military intelligence chief Kirill Budanov, the Strana news site reported on Friday. The report comes less than two weeks after Zelensky sacked half of the government’s ministers.

According to Strana, both Umerov and Budanov have fallen out of favor with Zelensky’s chief of staff, Andrey Yermak.

“The fact is that there is serious tension between Budanov and [Yermak],” an anonymous source told the news site, describing Budanov as “one of the few remaining influential people in Zelensky’s inner circle who are an alternative to Yermak.”

MOSCOW, September 21. /TASS/. Ukrainian forces have lost more than 300 troops and nine units of armored hardware in the Kursk area in the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian losses have amounted to over 300 troops and nine units of armored hardware, including an infantry fighting vehicle, two APCs, six armored combat vehicles, as well as six artillery guns, a US-made HIMARS multiple rocket launcher and an MLRS vehicle, an electronic warfare system, a mine-clearing vehicle, an armored recovery vehicle and seven motor vehicles," the ministry said in a statement.

Russian forces have also foiled attempted Ukrainian counterattacks near Kamyshevka and Lyubimovka in the borderline region of Kursk, inflicting roughly 20 enemy casualties

In total, Ukrainian forces have lost as many as 15,650 troops, 124 tanks and 121 artillery guns since fighting began in the Kursk area, the ministry said.

Furthermore, Israel will be implementing "mobile radar installations" in support of these missile defenses, and their (very quietly kept) intention is to "gather as much data as possible on Russian missiles because they expect Iran to have such technology soon, if not already."

US to Tighten Restrictions on Russian Oil Trade and Military Goods Exports

The United States plans to impose stricter restrictions on Russian oil trade, particularly targeting the shadow fleet that Moscow uses to export raw materials, according to Dalip Singh, Deputy Assistant to the US President for National Security.

"We're getting closer to enforcing a much tougher regime on the shadow fleet and the volume of oil Russia can supply to the market," Singh said.

He also highlighted another area where the US will ramp up efforts: curbing the export of goods used by the Russian military through third countries.
