Ukraine Lost Up to 400 Troops in Russia's Kursk Region in Past Day

MOSCOW- Ukraine has lost up to 400 troops in its offensive
against the western Russian region of Kursk in the past day, the Russian Defense ministry said.
"Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian armed forces lost up to 400 troops, three tanks, three infantry fighting vehicles, one armored fighting vehicle, 14 motor vehicles, four artillery systems, one mortar, 13 FPV drone teams and one air defense radar," the ministry said in a daily bulletin.
This brings Ukraine's total losses in Kursk region since August up to more than 45,220. Russian troops repelled three counterattacks mounted by Ukrainian forces along the Kursk border in the past day, inflicting losses on enemy manpower and hardware in 11 border settlements as well as in Sumy region.

Latvia Prepares Final 2024 Batch of 1,000 Drones for Ukraine

Latvia has readied 1,000 UAVs of various types for transfer to Ukraine, according to the country’s defense minister. This marks the last shipment of drones for 2024.

Looking ahead to 2025, Latvia plans to allocate €20 million for UAV purchases as part of the drone coalition initiative.

Ukrainian forces lose up to 310 servicemen in Russia’s Kursk

MOSCOW, December 30. /TASS/. The losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk direction reached 310 servicemen, one infantry fighting vehicle was destroyed, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.

"Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost more than 310 servicemen, while one infantry fighting vehicle, 10 armored combat vehicles, 6 vehicles, and one artillery piece were destroyed," the ministry said.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, during the military operations in the direction of Kursk, the enemy lost more than 45,530 servicemen, 262 tanks, 204 infantry fighting vehicles, 142 armored personnel carriers, 1,359 armored combat vehicles, 1,237 vehicles, 337 artillery pieces, 42 multiple launch rocket system launchers, including 11 HIMARS and 6 MLRS, and 13 anti-aircraft missile system launchers.

Air defenses thwart nearly 170 Ukrainian air attacks on DPR over week

DONETSK, December 30. /TASS/. Air defense systems in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) intercepted nearly 170 air attacks by the Ukrainian army over the past week, the regional Federal Security Service (FSB) department reported.

"Over the past week, the Donbass Dome air defense and electronic warfare system detected and intercepted 168 enemy UAVs over Donetsk and Makeyevka," the message reads.

The system also intercepted a fixed-wing drone attempting to attack the Makeyevka machine-building plant.
