TANZANIA Private Sector Foundation (TPSF) should source a centralised system and an area of all documents with key information for easy accessibility by investors and the private societies in need of vital data.
The piece of advice was made here over the weekend by TPSF Director of Operations, Mr Valence Mutakyamirwa in a two-day knowledge sharing workshop, saying the package would easily assist investors to find missing data of an organisation(s) while looking for a business partner(s).
He said they have organised the workshop to educate their members on the best way to come up with studies, and reports as well as other relevant documents that could be used to improve the business environment in the country.
The Director of Operations hinted that advocacy and dialogue issues were important in the area to improve business and investment environment in the country for investors to ‘prosper further.’ “We as TPSF, we will keep on striving to have in place the best business avenue for the private sector, by engaging the public sector to make it work for the betterment of both parties,” added Mr Mutakyamirwa.
He further said that as much as the private sector was enjoying improved business environment in the country, there was still a need to address the remaining challenges for a vibrant sector which contributes to the national development.
The Director of Operations further said that it was high time an action was taken by the government and special attention paid in areas, seemingly been sidelined in the business forum to raise business and investment opportunities, and in turn raise revenue collections in the country.
Earlier, TPSF Knowledge Management Officer, Ms Veneranda Sumila said the private sector organisation requires their detailed information and a website for investors to exploit.
She said the website would be highly visited by prospective investors from Europe and USA, even if few private sector organisations would put their full details in it. “We have the online business database and Library, we urge you to have your details there, as it is an avenue where investors can contact you in business insights, although very few are using it effectively,” added Ms Sumila.
She equally, advised them to fully make use of the ‘Best Dialogue’ to access funds for a number of studies and research, whose findings would be used to improve the country’s business environment.
On his side, the Executive Secretary of the Tanzania Chamber of Minerals and Energy, Mr Gerald Mturi emphasized on the importance of a joint platform, where the public and private sector can discuss and come up with amicable solutions on issues, which delay the growth of the industry.
“If we have attracting business environment… take it from me that we will have one of the best private sector, where the government would enjoy increased revenue generation for the national development,” said Mr Mturi.
My thinking
