Strong Kenya shilling hurting exports to Tanzania, Uganda

The Tanzanian currency is weak by default not design, kudos for being so proud about that.
Wewe punguza bangi, Tanzania now exports more than it imports, I hope it is by default too not by design. Kenya imports more than it exports by design not default. Usipokua makini utaokota makopo mwaka huu. Tanzania hoyeeee!!!!!!

Nadhani ulikuwa unanuia kumnukuu mtu mwingine.

Kenyan goods are uncompetitive in the region and hurts exports. Kenya foreign exchang earnings are now dependet on Remmitances from relatives who live in USA/UK and proceedes from eurobond.
Tanzania ForeX is dependent on tourism and Exports (Job Creating actuvities)

Kenya imports more than it exports. Same case with LDC bongolala.
A stronger shilling is overall better compared to a weaker shilling.
Our exports might be expensive, but our imports will be cheaper.. It's a net win

Oh. and a strong, unmanipulated currency is sign of a strong economy.

Punguza bangi wewe ambaye unasema export za Tz zimeongezeka kwasababu thamani ya Tzshs inashuka.

Manufacturing sector inakua kwa kasi production costs zipo chini, ukijumlisha na weak currency yetu vyote kwa pamoja vinafanya bidhaa za Tanzania Kuwa cheaper kuliko Kenya, hivyo kupandisha exports

Tanzania is an importing country. I'm very sure your trade balance is on the negative. You cannot compare exports by China, Japan and the likes to your own exports

Having weaker currency will only increase this negative balance because your purchasing power reduces. Things become expensive for you to buy (in simple terms)

Nenda ukasome uchumi, hususan international trade. Maana unaongea vitu ambavyo havipo.

China and Japan depreciate their currencies yearly in order to increase their export, like wise Tanzania and the strategy is working very well, Tanzania exports are rising while that of Kenya are decreasing
Can you prove that Tanzania, a country with such a low manufacturing base (unlike China and Japan) is really wilfully depreciating its already weak currency annually in order to boost export of its (mostly unprocessed) goods.

Who said it does willingly?, but nothing in this World has got nor opportunity in it, even in the time of WWII there were some opportunities, it depends on how you can use them.

There is no way a country like Tz Which has higher GNI and GDP PPP Than kenya can have a lower currency. Their exports are also higher than kenya, FDI also higher, and their import bill is going lower due to substitution of petroleum imports with gas.
Magufuli is manupulating Tz currency, hiding the true wealth of Tanzania, he wants to have favourable financing from WB which gives cheap loans to "poor" countries
