Dear Mwanakijiji,
I do respect your views, but I beg to disagree with you on this matter of the PM's resignation. Why don't you assume that the PM has been overwhelmed by the ongoing killings of the Albinos and thats what led him to that statement. I have tried to imagine if one of us had a close family member who happened to be an Albino and suddenly disappeared? How would you retaliate if you catch a person on the process of trying to kidnap your family member? I rarely post articles on this forum, but I felt compelled to add my few cents.
If each one of us were to succumb to the level of being led by what we feel then some of us would have a lot to say or do against those people who hurt our feelings. One of the distinguishing attributes of a person is the faculty of reason which is the ability to seek truth, follow it wherever it may lead you. But even more it is that human faculty that helps us to rule over passion.
You are wrong. (Ungekuwa ni mtu unayenisoma utajua ni kwanini mara ya kwanza niliandika kuhusu suala hili almost over a year ago). It is personal to me and that feeling of revenge that hoovers over me is a feeling of doom. Sijui nitafanya nini nikigundua kitu kibaya cha msingi huu kimempata ndugu yangu. One thing I know, nikimkamata huyo mtu sitomuua! Sizungumzii kutoka kwenye njozi I have been here before and I know taking somebody's life is not like kumsukuma mlevi! It is not just pulling a trigger and later go and get some coconut juice! No sir..
If I were to take someone's life it'll have to be totally in self defense or by circumstances that can be legally defensible. Not because I'm mad, upset, fed up, tired, and such.
I am worried sometimes how the opposition parties react to some issues. Their solution is always for one to resign, but instead of accepting it as a human error and lay down their solution to the problems.
U don't accept things as human errors when you give someone a chance to retract.
Wrong was I? That is what triggered my strong reaction. Yeye akasema "yes I meant what I said". Hiyo siyo human error, that is arrogance of power and a mentality of impunity! I for one can not accept it. If you can that is fine. Kila mtu na ubongo wake.
Any caring citizen who believes in humanity would react the same way the PM did.
No sir, any caring citizen who believes in humanity and the rule of law and the whole concept of justice would not react that way! I care a lot about what is going on, but I don't react with such sentiments. And remember, I for one am not questioning his caring, his honesty or his feelings about the matter, I'm questioning his judgment and temperament as a leader. Even if these were questionable, that does not mean that he is not a caring citizen. Just a misguided one.
I would rather accept his apology and unity to find solutions to this problem, which is becoming a national crisis.
agreed;
I think there is a need of declaring a national crisis that requires collective efforts to fight the perpetrators.
agreed;
This is not a time to gain political leverage on the expense of the Albinos.
agreed;
All interest stakeholders have to come together and find a solution.
some are trying but we are not making a headway with such kind of sentiments in the air.
I would have been so impressed if Dr. Slaa himself would take initiative and host some albinos from his own constituency.
How many are you willing to sponsor or adopt. Not everyone need to publish what they are doing lest it invite unwanted attention. Sasa Dr. Slaa au kiongozi mwingine ambaye hana ulinzi kama wa Waziri Mkuu akisema nina mtoto Albino halafu akamuacha jimboni kwake wahuni wakamvamia si itakuwa ni kashfa nyingine tena. Jinsi mtu anavyosaidia albino tuiache kwa mtu huyo.
At least Waziri Mkuu has adopted a child who might have become a victim and another number.
Unajua sheria zilifuatwa au yeye kaenda tu kwa vile ni Waziri Mkuu anasema "hey, I'll adopt that one.. and off they go!" Don't even make me start on that one.
Resignation would not solve the problem.
Not the killing of albinos but will solve a problem of mediocre leadership!
I am not defending his statement, but the statement does not require his resignation.
Believe me.. if he didn't change it is sufficient enough for prosecution for incitement of violence! Do you think if what he said would have been said by a MwanaHalisi Editor or Mwananchi Editor yangebakia mitaani!? And that is the only reason why he is still in power!
We should bear in mind resignation is also costly for our nation.
so are the careless words! sometimes even costlier!
lets leave our politics aside and work for a solution.
We are trying just jump on the wagon! you are late.
