The only thing that helped Kenya to stay afloat is the currency manipulatin which makes Kenya's shilling look more valuable, hence when used to measure economic activities in KSH, it makes Kenyan economy look much bigger!
Kenya uses the same trick that was used by South Africa to stay on top of the list, but when Rand tumbled, SA fell into third place.
Qns to ask!
When SA tumbled onto the third place, did some economic activities cease? The answer is No. Nothing much had had changed on SA economic activities, but on the value of the measurement which is SA Rand.
The same applies to Kenya.
