TANZANIA-Zambia Railway Authority (TAZARA) is currently in talks with Malawi and Zambia’s Ministry of Energies to start transporting 21,000 tonnes of oil for a month.

Tazara’s Regional General Manager for Tanzania, Fuad Abdallah, said that they have finalised a deal with Malawi, and in September they will start transporting about 4,000 tonnes.

“We will start transporting oil to Malawi and later Zambia after improving efficiency by reducing the number of days for transporting cargo from Dar es Salaam to Kapiri Mposhi, Zambia from 30 days to within a week,” he said.

Duh, nilijua hii TAZARA mliyojengewa na Wachina ipo kwa ajili ya kusafirisha mizigo yote kwenda hizo nchi, leo ndio mnapanga kupeleka mafuta?? Kuna jamaa Barbarosa huwa anatutambia sana kuhusu TAZARA kwamba imekua hapo kwa miaka mingi na mnaitumia sana. Iweje leo ndio mnapanga itumike kwa mafuta, jameni nyie mnawachelewesha majirani zenu sana, na ndio maana Kagame akasema akipewa hiyo bandari yenu, atawalisha na kuwavisha kila siku.

Anyway asante kwa taarifa zako kwenye Kenyan news, ila sijui inawahusu vipi Wakenya, bora JF waanzishe na Zambia na Malawi news.

TAZARA to triple pro€t margins
THE Tanzania Zambia Railway Authority (TAZARA) targets to triple its profits to US$44.1 million in the last half of this year due to a petroleum products contracts from Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Malawi.
This follows an agreement which was signed in July with African Fossils Limited of Tanzania to transport 18 million litres of petroleum products to the DRC in the next one year.
The railway firm has also secured a contract to transport 48 million litres of fuel to Malawi, according to the TAZARA report for the financial year ending June 30, 2016 availed to the Zambian media recently. “TAZARA expects its profit to reach US$44.1 million over the next financial year, thanks to the planned improvements from US$13.5 million profit in 2015/16,”the report reads. During the period under review, TAZARA earned US$13.5 million profit in 2015/16 due to improved freight traffic performance. In the same period, the annual freight traffic for the authority reached 130,000 tonnes in 2015/16 from 87,000 tonnes in 2014/15, representing an increase of 49 per cent. On the outlook, for the 2016/17 financial year, the company plans to improve its cargo traffic by 200 per cent and reach 381,000 tonnes.

who told u they were not doing so before? They have been doing for years only the service stopped for some time! If u have been to Dar port, u will see Malawi oil depot aside Zambia's! That was only receiving crude oil via Tazama pipeline before capacity decrease at their Ndola refinery!

mko na hiyo tazara rail line and pipeline yet zambia does more trade with kenya than tanzania. kenya exports more to zambia than tanzania.

yet these tanzanians want to compare themselves to kenya economically
