TBT: How Nas exposed himself through Ether

TBT: How Nas exposed himself through Ether

Hivi bado beef lao lipo au lishakwisha...ila navosikiaga jigga ndo alianza nas akamaliza

Bifu iliisha.

Almost a score back, the rap game witnessed probably the biggest rap beef in its history, Nas vs Jay-z. Many believe that Jay-Z lost that battle, I do so myself. Many believe it’s ether that ended that battle, to some point yeah. Also, many dub ether to be one of the greatest diss song ever, I think that's ridiculous. Personally, I think and believe ether was over-hyped and overlooked, and Nas really played himself on that one.

Now before we get any further, lemme advice y’all kids that I’m going to hurt your feelings; please spare me and attack the points I’m going to raise, with points. I had my doubts about doing this, cos I know the culture ain't ready, but what the heck...

I have no respect for Nas, cos through ether he proved to be….

A confused fella.
In the song, there are bars that Nas goes... 'My child, I've watched you grow up to be famous /
And now I smile like a proud dad, watching his only son that made it /.

Having said that alone, takes away all the credibility of this song. With those lines, Nas credits himself for birthing Jay-Z, watched(guided) every step to his success, and he’s so proud of Jay-Z’s achievement. Still in the same song, Nas goes ‘**** Jay-Z’, accused him of things like ‘You traded your soul for riches’, went on to throw ‘You a fan, a phony, a fake, a pussy, a Stan’.

Seems Nas couldn't make up his mind. Was he proud of Jay-Z, or disgusted/disappointed in him?? It can’t be both. It just doesn't make sense.

A hypocrite
Nas called out Jay-Z for abusing women (verbally)....'You seem to be only concerned with dissing women'

Yet Nas also abuses women in the same song through lines like....'Y'all niggas deal with emotions like bitches', 'I rock hoes, y'all rock fellas'. Nas went even far to abuse a woman (Foxy Brown) by calling her out by name, and telling her private business.. 'Foxy got you hot 'cause you kept your face in her puss.'

What right did Nas have to defend women, while he throws one under the bus, even worse off some rumors??

Gay
Throughout the song, Nas was throwing homophobic jokes and insults towards Jay-Z. He called him Gay-Z, accused him of 'rocking fellas 'steada hoes', but it gets more interesting when Nas went to details and called Jay ‘a dcik riding faggot with dcik-sucking lips’.

The last 2 jabs aren’t just insults, but sexual insults which one pays attention to details before making them. Nas painted disturbing sexual images about his foe, which he couldn’t provide proof of. What kind of a straight man, looks at another man’s lips and go….’those are dcik sucking lips’, if he’s not gay?? What straight man think of another man riding a freakin’ joystick, if they’re not gay themselves??

A snitch.
This one is a straight forward case, no questions. Nas said.... ‘And your man stabbed Un, and made you take the blame/’. Allegedly, Un Rivera was stabbed by one of Jay-Z’s soldiers for leaking Jay's music, some accounts do say that it was actually Jay that stabbed the man, it don’t matter who did it. Jay-Z was eventually charged for the incident and pled guilty, and got 3 years of probation plus some lighter sh!t.

One of the sacred rules in hip-hop, and the wise guys world, is DO NOT SNITCH. Even if its true that Jay-Z only took the fall, he could argue that he did so for the team and to stay true to the culture, there's absolutely no shame in that; besides, the man was stabbed for Jay-Z in the first place.

How did Nas get away with stitches?..beats me.

A sucka.
Nas called out Jay for saying he was the better emcee than Biggie (which I’m 120% down with)...‘First, Biggie's ya man, then you got the nerve to say that you better than Big?’

Rap/Hip-hop is a competition sport, built on that, built for that. Every rapper should step to the mic with the mentality that they’re the best in the game, no matter who it is they’re up against or with. One claiming to be the best, doesn’t necessarily mean they’re disrespecting the other(s). Kendrick Lamar did so with his verse in control, J Cole did so in Fire Squad. Even Nas of all, should know better cos Tupac called him out for competition when he said ‘No offense to Nas, but the whole fcukin world is mine’. It's simply the nature of the game.

Biggie himself, was competing with Jay-Z, and learned some aspects of his game from Jay. For y’all that didn’t know, Biggie learned how to not to write down lyrics, but go about ‘em in your head from Jay-Z the first time he got in the studio with him. Dj Clark Kent who introduced both men testified that.

So Nas’ shot was simply a sucka move to draw Biggie’s fans to his side. He also did the same with Tupac’s in the same song when he said....‘who's the best? Pac, Nas and Big? Ain't no best’. Al though from another perspective, you could argue that Nas was being smart for recruiting Tupac and Biggie fans, but we know better than that now.

A Bashite fellow.
Nas proved to be a blond on topics like AIDS awareness, Martial Arts, and several few others we won't finish if we get to.

Nas took a shot at Jay-Z and his business partners for paying homage to their role model, who had died of AIDS (allegedly).....Rock-a-fella died of AIDS, that was the end of his chapter /
and that's the guy y'all chose to name your company after? /
’.

Dying of AIDS doesn't make one a subject of mockery, or means they should be forgotten like they never had anything else going on in their life but AIDS. Mind you that Ether came out in 2001, when almost the whole world was already fully aware of AIDS, let alone the US.

Nas also, seemed to not know that Martial Arts got no age limit, long as one is physically and mentally fit. Martial arts serve for fitness, protection, meditation, education, and everything positive about life. But Nas laughed at Jay-Z with I still whip your ass, you thirty-six in a karate class? You Tae-bo hoe tryna' work it out, you tryna' get brolic? /’. Later, Jay-Z challenged him to a fight, but he chickened out.

It's a million things I could question off that song, but that's more than enough for now I believe. Absorb or front, there you have it.

Deuces!!

Dan cooper...

I don wanna believe if my yesternight reply in your previous thread was a gambit for you to open this thread, however if that is so it is cool now lets get down to the discussion.

We are all aware that jay z has surpassad nas in commercial success and that is the edge all you jay z fanatics' powerful counter arguments derived from when jay z vs Nas battle is up.

Minding you that Ether was a response to jay z diss record "takeover" and majority(jay z inclusively) felt that diss track could have ended Nas' career, on the contray Nas came out to ether Jay z and caused him to slink in shame.

Now lemme refute and oppugn most of your claims here which i find are ludicrous and biased.

' My child, I've watched you grow up to be famous /
And now I smile like a proud dad, watching his only son that made it

Of course there's nothing you can confute in these lines, it's plausible Nas used to be Jay z's idol and to prove he has been a big fan of Nas and obsessed with him, he sampled these bars from "World is yours remex"

"Presidents to represent me
I'm out for presidents to represent me
I'm out for dead fuckin' presidents to represent me
"-Dead president II by Jay z

"Presidents to represent me
I'm out for presidents to represent me
I'm out for dead fuckin' presidents to represent me
"-World is yours by Nas released in 1994.

So, it's obvious Nas has all rights to claim he's a part of Jay successful musical career just let it be.

. ' You seem to be only concerned with dissing women'

There is no hypocrisy there or maybe it's your perception. As a matter of facts some of jay's erstwhile biggest hits glorify misogyny....

-who you wit, glorifes him being pimp
-money, cash, hoes even this title explains what he talks about.
-Girls best friends, females will do anything for jewery.
-Do it again, glorifies random one night stands and kicks girls to the curbs.

From the revelations of the listed tracks above, are we still doubt your dude is not misogynist and dissing women?.

We can get down and go through line after line.

Talking of this line Y'all niggas deal with emotions like bitches" actually Nas didn't mean to abuse women rather he was attacking jay z for being dishonesty with himself and he's dealing with his past experience of poverty like a bitch.

'I rock hoes, y'all rock fellas' damn!! It's believed Nas was fuckin hoes whilst jay z rocks gays.

Nas threw a harsh jabs to jigga called him Gay-Z following their record label which was named after the guy(rockafella) who died of AIDS and was allegedly to be gay, it seemed that Jay z was woshipping gayness.

Again Nas went to call out Jay z "dick suckin lips" tied with lines "dick riding faggot" unarguably Jay has been on usage of Biggie's legacy and most plausible Nas stated in a later line "how much of Biggie's rhymes is gonna come out of your fat lips" apparently whatever comes out of Jay z's mouth is originally biggie's lyrics.

Nas called out Jay for saying he was the better emcee than Biggie (which I’m 120% down with)... ‘First, Biggie's ya man, then you got the nerve to say that you better than Big?’

Of course we all know Jay z has been stepping on Biggie's legacy and the worse thing he claims to be better than him, please huu ni ujinga wa kiwango cha Phd yaani ni sawa Young killer aje aseme yeye ni bora kuliko Fid Q.

No, Nas is not bashite type, refer these lines "Rocafella died of AIDS, that was the end of his chapter
And that's the guy y'all chose to name your company after?
" Simply Nas was insuniating Jigga and his crew for branding their record label a name of someone who died of AIDS which became epidemic desese in black communities. If you are talking a bout bashite type it's jay z who could hardly walk alone without taking samples from likes of KRS-one and co.

I still whip your ass, you thirty-six in a karate class? You Tae-bo hoe tryna' work it out, you tryna' get brolic" was Jay z not at 36 years of age yet he takes martial arts classes? So whom one was he intending to fight in the ring!? Simply Nas made funny of him, he struggled to get brolic alikuwa ana inspiration za kuwa gymnast au!?...jay z challenged him to fight but Nas was more interested on lyrical fight not otherwise, he should've gone to Mike tyson for physical fight.

I'mma tell you this, you could have done it fairly if only you had brought up a takeover track into a dicussion first. Many have been said about ether vs takeover, and i in my opinions take "takeover" as the most overrated diss track in rap game.. Jigga woefully contradicts himself throughout the verses.

""So yeah I sampled your voice, you was usin' it wrong/ You made it a hot line, I made it a hot song

Jigga claimed that he took numerous samples from Nas tracks coz he was not using them right he later hypocritically said in another lines "Nigga switch up your flow, your shit is garbage/What you trying to kick knowledge? (Get the https://jamii.app/JFUserGuide outta here)"

Sasa huu si unafiki wa kiwango cha rami? How can someone try to coach someone whom he looks up to?

Mwisho tu seme jay z is still a toddler compared to Nas lyrically.

No Sir, it ain't. Not that it matters anyway.

No Sir, I am no Jay fanatic, but a Nas critic. Nowhere in here have I compared the 2 in any way, nowhere have I compared Nas to or against anyone.

Minding you that Ether was a response to jay z diss record "takeover" and majority(jay z inclusively) felt that diss track could have ended Nas' career, on the contray Nas came out to ether Jay z and caused him to slink in shame.

Huh! How you figure?

Your post is waay too long man, gotta break & address it in pieces.

My dude, could you show me anywhere that I said or insinuated that Nas didn't have any right to claim some of Jay's glory? Why y'all keep putting words on me tho??

Please take your time to read and comprehend what I said, and call my bluff accordingly.

We can get down and go through line after line.

Again, again, and again.....I called Nas out for hypocrisy on that one, not for lying. Try to read and to understand.

Talking of this line Y'all niggas deal with emotions like bitches" actually Nas didn't mean to abuse women rather he was attacking jay z for being dishonesty with himself and he's dealing with his past experience of poverty like a bitch.

No Sir, another one you didn't get. Nas meant Jay and his fellas handle their emotions like women, which is a weakness. So, not only did Nas meant women are weak, but he also used an abusive term to refer to them.

'I rock hoes, y'all rock fellas' damn!! It's believed Nas was fuckin hoes whilst jay z rocks gays.

Hoes is another offensive/abusive term to refer to women, hence the hypocrisy.

Get it now?

Where in the world did get that, could you share any source with an ounce of reliability? Any.

No Sir, those lines you mentioned in blue, were never tied together as you said, do thy homework.

What's legacy to you, and give us any Biggie's lyrics that Jay-Z ever used.

That's your opinion, and kindly stick to the topic that is Nas' ether.

Bro, i seriously doubt if we get to understand each other here, my long reply was all about to confute your claims which seem to be unrealistic in impartial view.

Unfortunately, you largerly miscomptehend my analysis. to make even worse you went to condract yourself at some points.

I just brought up all these revelations to make you realizing your idol Jay z was under Nas' shadow by then, and his diss track is not overrated as you paint it.

First off, it's Nas who insinuated fighting, see the highlighted red line. Second, the 36 years old pun is just a figure of speech, Jay-Z was actually in his late 20's. Faida na malengo ya martial arts nimeshaelezea, soma tena uelewe.

The discussion is about Nas, and ether's credibility as a diss song. It's not a comparison debate. I'ma keep my grill tight for what you've just raised, cos I damn know better now.
