Talking of The NBA Finals, that is where MJ beats LBJ (6 Finals MVPs and he is 6 for 6) vs (3 Finals MVPs and he is 3 for 9). MJs advocates use this and it seems like beating the rest of factors.

So to me, Curry has that one thing to prove to me, Finals MVP. Until then he ain't Finals MVP.

The Season MVP is the best in the NBA league while Finals MVP is the best in the team during finals.
As season MVP - you were the best of the best for an entire year while as a finals MVP - you were the most important player in a championship win.
The season MVP is more important for legacy. It rewards consistency over 82 games, as opposed to the player who played best in a 4-7 game span for the winning team.

And if the season MVP backs his title with a ring because his team won the championship then Finals MVP doesn't mean much! This is what happened to Curry...he was the season's first unanimous MVP and when his team won the championship, his teammate Iguodala was the finals MVP!
