I subscribe to the idea of having the moderate population that is well nurtured. Having huge number of people that can't feed themselves is a serious burden to the economic prosperity of a country. The reason why nordic countries are rated the best in terms of health services, is because, among other things, they have a maneagiable population.
Off at a tangent, the GDP you have indicated in your post is nothing but a serious joke that should go unanswered.
