For a very long time, people on this forum have peddled the lie that Tanzania earns more from tourism than Kenya. What's been happening is guys fished figures they didn't understand from the internet and paraded them around. They compared Tanzania's contribution to GDP figures with Kenya's government revenue from tourism figures and concluded Tanzania was ahead. Far from the truth - here are the actual figures.
Direct Contribution to GDP:-
KENYA - $2.5B
TANZANIA - $2.1B
Total Contribution to GDP
KENYA - $6.7B
TANZANIA - $5.9B


Even in growth we are still ahead.

As you can see, Kenya leads in both size and growth of the tourism industry. I guess the discussion is over on this.

You must accept and move on, it is the reality nor way out.

So what even if it will be 2% of your GDP?, so long as your GDP remains on records doesn't do anything on the ground, while our GDP is doing nearly everything for us.

But the one which I have given you is a world reputable third party and neutral body, nor one can trust data from GoK. Do you know which position Kenya Bureau of statistics is ranked in Africa?, is among the worsts.

Keep dreaming, if ur on transit numbers are at 1.25 mln PAX for the whole World Africa included, then rest be assured less than 20% of our tourists come from JKIA! Idiot learn how to digest figures.

Even if all our tourists pass through JKIA, that is more shame for them, because we use them as feeder airport, nor one wants to stay there, that shows how powerful our tourism sector is.
 

And we don't have a national airline.
