The Real East Africa's Tourism King: Lies Unraveled

That is normal for Kenya, few to have everything and majority to have nothing, very opposite with Tanzania, that's why Tanzania leads Africa in Inclusive economy, Kenya is the last.

Sijakuelewa kuhusu Ethiopia, unataka kusema nini?. We we talk about tourism it includes all forms of tourisms, if you combined all forms of tourism including conferences, climbing mountains, culture tourism, Tanzania is leading by far.

The problem between Kenya and Tanzania is that, Kenya invests on mass tourism, but Tanzania invests on high yield tourism, when you shout when there is an international conference talking place in Nairobi, in Tanzania very rich people but very few are doing their conference in the middle of Serengeti for ten days off the camera but pay much more than those 300 people at KICC.

Na ndio maana nikamuuliza huyu jamaa kama anajuwa how much it cost to visit Tanzania compare to Kenya? tumeingiza hiyo pesa from only 1.2 million visitors na wao wamepata 1.4 million with all direct flights walizo nazo, inaonyesha nani anaenda chini na nani anaenda juu.

For a very long time, people on this forum have peddled the lie that Tanzania earns more from tourism than Kenya. What's been happening is guys fished figures they didn't understand from the internet and paraded them around. They compared Tanzania's contribution to GDP figures with Kenya's government revenue from tourism figures and concluded Tanzania was ahead. Far from the truth - here are the actual figures.
Direct Contribution to GDP:-
KENYA - $2.5B
TANZANIA - $2.1B
Total Contribution to GDP
KENYA - $6.7B
TANZANIA - $5.9B

Even in growth we are still ahead.

As you can see, Kenya leads in both size and growth of the tourism industry. I guess the discussion is over on this.
Umenibamba sana. Ndio maana nilikuwa nashangaa kwa nini Tanzania wanapata high-networth tourists ilhali sisi tunapata low-networth tourists, kumbe ni ujinga tu. Ni watu hawajui kusoma data.

A tpurist in Tanzania spend more

Utani penbeni, unemployment in Kenya ni shida kuliko Tanzania. The fact that, Tanzania tunafunguwa hoteli mpya kila baada ya miezi mitatu (in average), while Kenya you're closing down.
Wewe mbona unatapatapa? Thread iko clear plus iko na reliable data. Mbona unayumbayumba mara kkusafishia Kenyatta viatu, mara unemployment. Umeshikwa hadi ujielewi?

Dar es Salaam — Kenya has admitted that it has been losing tourists to Tanzania in recent years.

Speaking on Kenya's Citizen television on Tuesday, the country's Tourism and Wildlife minister, Mr Najib Balala, voiced concern about the state of hotels in the country, saying that lack of adequate world-class hotels in Kenya had made Tanzania a better proposition for tourists in East Africa.

"The reason why Tanzania did better than us in 2017 is because their hotels are brand new and modern while our hotels are 40 years old," he said.

Wewe ndio hujuwi kabisa, we have a product and Kenyans are addicted to it. They cant live without it same as ........(fill the black)
Jamaa, mbona unanifanya nikudharau hivi?

Our latest popular destination is Rwanda. Dubai has also grown so much as destination for Kenyan tourists. We receive the most tourists in the region and we also tour the most. A good sign of economic growth and more people rising to middle class economic level.

Even Tanzania visit Kenya for vocation purposes. Mimi mwenye nimefanya hivyo not once or twice. Freedom of movement within EAC block give us this opportunity.

Tourism earned Tanzania $2.3 billion (Sh5 trillion) last year, up from $2 billion (Sh4.4 trillion) in 2016. Earnings in 2015 were $1.9 billion (Sh4.18 trillion).

International tourist arrivals worldwide grew by six per cent in the first four months of 2017 compared to the same period the previous year, with business confidence reaching its highest levels in a decade, according to the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO). Sustained growth in most major destinations and a steady rebound in others drove results. Destinations worldwide received 369 million international tourists (overnight visitors) in the first four months of 2017, 21 million more than in the same months of 2016, according to the UNWTO World Tourism Barometer.
