While many will castigate Uhuru for corruption. It is not lost to most Kenyans that on the other hand, Raila is perceived as being very divisive. Kenya's president have all been seen as safe bets for the mwafrika aristocracy.
So while we all think its the votes of the masses that matter, we are wrong. Most often voters are just pawns in the grand scheme of things.
If you are to borrow a leaf from TZ's ccm election. Magufuli was a non starter. But shock on the system. He was picked as the party's flag bearer.
If I was raila and really have the interest of the country at heart, I would back a less divisive candidate.
