KAISERSLAUTERN, Germany – A NATO official in Brussels on Friday called a Libyan claim that it downed a NATO helicopter “totally bogus.”

“It’s another sign of a desperate regime,” said the NATO official, who spoke on condition of anonymity. “They think that lies will get them out of the mess they find themselves in.” The claim, the official added, is “totally bogus.”

Quoting a military spokesman, Libyan state television had reported earlier in the day that Libyan forces shot down a NATO helicopter near the coastal town of Zlitan, according to Reuters News Service.
Zlitan is located about 100 miles east of Tripoli, the capital. The report said the helicopter apparently crashed into the Mediterranean Sea.
The Libyan spokesman said it was the third aircraft to be shot down by his nation’s forces since NATO began its air campaign in late March. The alliance launched its campaign to stop the attacks on civilian targets seeking to oust Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi.
The alliance has acknowledged the loss of one aircraft during the campaign, and it attributed the loss to mechanical failure.
While disregarding the Libyan report outright, the NATO official said the alliance would keep up the pressure.
“They continue to attack civilians, which is why we are continuing our high-tempo of air strikes,” the official said. Libya “still continues to be a significant threat,” the official said. “We will maintain the pressure.”

[h=1]GOING ROGUE: NATO War Crimes in Libya[/h]

It's a story CNN won't report. Late at night there's a pounding on the door in Misurata. Armed soldiers force young Libyan women out of their beds at gun-point. Hustling the women and teenagers into trucks, the soldiers rush the women to gang bang parties for NATO rebels-or else rape them in front of their husbands or fathers. When NATO rebels finish their rape sport, the soldiers cut the women's throats.

Rapes are now ongoing acts of war in rebel-held cities, like an organized military strategy, according to refugees. Joanna Moriarty, who's part of a global fact-finding delegation visiting Tripoli this week, also reports that NATO rebels have gone house to house through Misurata, asking families if they support NATO. If the families say no, they are killed on the spot. If families say they want to stay out of the fighting, NATO rebels take a different approach to scare other families. The doors of "neutral homes" are welded shut, Moriarty says, trapping families inside. In Libyan homes, windows are typically barred. So when the doors to a family compound get welded shut, Libyans are entombed in their own houses, where NATO forces can be sure large families will slowly starve to death.

These are daily occurrences, not isolated events. And Gadhaffi's soldiers are not responsible. In fact, pro-Gadhaffi and "neutral" families are targeted as the victims of the attacks. Some of the NATO tactics may have occurred in hopes of laying blame on Gadhaffi's door. However the attacks are back firing.........

Muammar Gaddafi’s New Safe Car
by Vikrant

Colonel Muammar Gaddafi from Libya was is recognized worldwide for his penchant for luxury fashion and other oddities has reportedly designed himself a new car, which is claimed as the safest car in this world.

The car named as the Saroukh el-Jamahiriya, meaning ‘Libyan Rocket’ is a saloon car fit for five people. The car is designed to resemble a rocket in shape from its front and tail end. The car is powered by a V6 engine which delivers a max power of 230bhp. The car was unveiled during the African Unity Organization’s conference in 2009, by Gaddafi.

This car is available with airbags, collapsible bumpers that supposedly help during a crash, and an electronic defense system. As for the function of the electronic defense system, it is not yet known how the feature will operate and what exactly it does

The Libyan Arab Domestic Investment Co. chairman, Dukhali Al-Meghareff, who produced the prototype for the company said that this car was a revolutionary model in the history of automotives. He went on to say that their leader spent many hours to come up with an effective answer. This car is the safest car to be produced anywhere in the world.

Much as Gadaffi has done brutal things but this theorem put forward by Ocampo is the highest degree of stupidity ever being shown by him since he became procecutor of third world countries and few accidental europeans countries like Serbs

inasemekana gadafi anagawa viagra kwa wanajeshi wake ili wawabake wanawake wote ambao wapo against naye.

My take: Ingawa kuna ukweli flani kwenye hii speech lakini waswahili walisema, mfa maji haachi kutapatapa!

(CNN) -- A U.N. resolution justifies the targeting of Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi, a senior NATO military official with operational knowledge of the Libya mission told CNN Thursday.
Asked by CNN whether Gadhafi was being targeted, the NATO official declined to give a direct answer. The resolution applies to Gadhafi because, as head of the military, he is part of the control and command structure and therefore a legitimate target, the official said.

To get an idea of who might wield influence in post-civil war Libya, take a look at the flags flying in the rebel-held east of the country.

A representative from the Emir's palace declined to comment on what products Qatar has delivered to Libya, and on the ruling family's motivations behind its Libyan engagement.

It's certainly a gamble. If the rebels win, Qatar is likely to pick up energy deals and new influence in North Africa. But if they lose, Qatar's ambitions may further alienate it among its neighbors.

Qatar was the first Arab country to contribute planes to police the U.N.-backed no-fly zone over Libya. Simultaneously, hundreds of millions of dollars began to flow from the Qatari capital Doha to Benghazi from early March.

Other countries are helping the rebels as well, of course. An anti-Gaddafi coalition called the Libya contact group, including the United States, France, Britain and Italy -- as well as Kuwait and Jordan -- agreed in May to set up a fund to help them; Washington pledged to unlock some of the $30 billion of Libyan state funds frozen in the United States.

IMMENSE WEALTH
What's behind Qatar's generosity? It helps that it is so rich. Qatar's copious gas reserves have made it one of the world's wealthiest countries, with a sky-high gross domestic product per person of $88,000 according to the International Monetary Fund. Its $60-billion plus sovereign wealth fund owns stakes in banks Credit Suisse and Barclays, as well as London's iconic department store Harrods.

There's also Libya's sovereign wealth fund (LIA), which has some $70 billion worth of assets frozen around the world. The LIA owns stakes in Italian bank UniCredit, defense company Finmeccanica, British publisher Pearson which owns the Financial Times, and Belgian financial group Fortis, now known as Ageas.

If the rebels win, Qatar would have a say in what the LIA does with its investments.

MORE THAN U.S. PROXY
Could Qatar also be working for Washington? Before the war, U.S. companies had large investments in Libya, with majors ConocoPhillips and Marathon involved in direct production deals with Gaddafi's Libyan National Oil Co. Now consultants and deal-brokers in Benghazi are struck by the low numbers of American fixers relative to their European peers.

"To some extent they may be acting as a U.S. proxy. Washington wants to achieve things but doesn't want to do it with its own hands," said a London-based risk consultant who has European firms as clients.

Qatar hosts a large U.S. military base; its decision to contribute planes to police the no-fly zone over Libya helped Washington argue that the western-led air strikes had Arab support. Its importance there was underscored by its ruler's visit to Washington in April.

"We would not have been able, I think, to shape the kind of broad-based international coalition that includes not only our NATO members but also includes Arab states, without the emir's leadership," President Barack Obama told reporters that month after meeting the emir in the Oval office.

Dana Rohrabacher, U.S. Congressman, Suggests That Iraq Pay Back U.S. For War Cost

A U.S. congressman visiting Baghdad Friday suggested that Iraq pay back the United States for the money it has spent in the eight years since the U.S.-led invasion in 2003.
"We would hope that some consideration be given to repaying the United States some of the megadollars we have spent here in the last eight years," Rohrabacher told reporters at the U.S. Embassy after the meeting.

Hivi nani aliwatuma kwenda kule kupigana vita?
