Mkuu ndio maana nilikuwa napinga sana African Union kuwa dependent on Gaddafi. I wrote something mwaka 2002 wakati African Union ikiwa kwenye process ya kuanzishwa na Gadaffi akiwa mtari wa mbele kuwa kama tuta rely kwake siku akiondoka madarakani, ndio itakuwa mwisho wa African Union. He wanted to make that organisation as hii, though baadhi ya viongozi walimshtukia.
 

Siurahishwi na vita hii ya NATO ila ninafurahishwa na kitu kimoja. Watu wakisema basi ujue hauna jinsi ni kufungasha, nguvu ya mabomu na risasi itakuweka madarakani kwa muda tu ila. Pia hili ni soma kwa viongozi wote madikteta na hasa wa Afrika kuwa uongozi si kumiliki majeshi na silaha, bali ni kupata ridhaa ya wananchi. Chaguzi zetu nyingi zimekuwa zikichezewa watu wanatawala bila kupata ridhaa ya wananchi huu ni udikteta mwingine tena mbaya zaidi ya wa gaddafi. siku wananchi walisema enough is enough....

Hapo EMT umezungumzia from a logical perspective… na putting aside kabisa the realistic perspective side of it… A person a-rule for for decades na unategemea asome alama za nyakati za kuachia ngazi?? Putting Gaddafi aside.. upande wa NATO … Walikua wapi siku zoote… where they do draw the line kua sasa huyu kaongoza saana inchi yake hivo sasa tumtoe hafai?? Iliwahusu vipi?? Kulikua na ulazima wa wao kuingilia?? Yoote hiyo ni maslahi binafsi na hilo suala lipo wazi kabisa.. na walau Mjinga wao admitted that much… Hii sio mara ya kwanza kua na mikwaruzo na jamaa – US weshawahi kua ni mikwaruzo mode miaka ya late sabini kama sikosei Via Uongozi wa Regan mpaka kabisa Libya ilikua attacked… why did they not finish him the last time to get it over with na hali he still is the person he was the last time….

Na kitu kimoja ambacho most wanashindwa realize ni kua sometimes haina maana… the only difference for instance kati ya Tanzania na Libya katika mfumo wa uongozi ni kua Libya kiongozi kawa mmoja tu in the last for decades… where as Tanzania inabadilisha Viongozi lakini sera zile zile… mpaka sometimes haina hata maana kua twapata viongozi wapya.. inakua kama mtu mmoja tu ndo kakalia kiti for woote maslahi ni yale yale…

Naweza kweli nikamlaumu Gaddafi na kujisahau kwake… But I can never support the attack ama kujihusisha kwa NATO in the name of the façade of helping Wananchi…. Walikua wapi siku zooote???

Muammar Gaddafi's 42-year rule in Libya is crumbling as rebels launch a fierce street battle for Tripoli in a final push for victory.
Rebels are now in the outer suburbs with reports some of the fighters are now withing seven kilometres of the centre of the city.
Many locals have taken to the streets, welcoming the rebels.

Euphoric Libyan rebels have moved into the centre of the capital, Tripoli, as Muammar Gaddafi's defenders melted away and thousands of jubilant civilians rushed out of their homes to cheer the long convoys of pickup trucks packed with fighters shooting in the air.

 The rebels' surprising and speedy leap forward, after six months of largely deadlocked civil war, was packed into just a few dramatic hours. By nightfall on Sunday, they had advanced more than 32km to Tripoli.
Zeina Khodr, Al Jazeera's correspondent, said from the Green Square: "There's a party in the Libyan capital tonight. The people are in charge of the city. They've decided the square is now called Martyr's Square, the original name. They're shouting 'we're free' and shooting at a poster of Gaddafi."

Green Square had been the site of night rallies by Gaddafi supporters throughout the uprising.
Earlier, the rebel leadership said on Sunday that two sons of embattled Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi had been arrested.

Seif al-Islam was arrested in a tourist village in western Tripoli, Abu Bakr al-Tarbulsi, a rebel spokesman told Al Jazeera from the Libyan capital. There was no word on the whereabouts of Muammar Gaddafi.

Luis Moreno-Ocampo, the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, confirmed Seif al-Islam had been detained and said the ICC would speak to the rebel National Transitional Council about his transfer to the Hague.
Meanwhile, Gaddafi's eldest son, Mohammed, surrendered to rebel forces and spoke to Al Jazeera shortly afterwards.

In the interview, he took an apologetic tone and said it was a lack of wisdom that caused the revolution and crisis in Libya.

"I've never been a government or security official, however I can tell you the absence of wisdom and foresight is what brought us to here today. Our differences could have been solved easily," he said.
As he spoke though, his house was attacked and shot at and the interview ended with the sound of gunfire.

"I'm being attacked right now," he said. "This is gunfire inside my house, they're inside my house. There is no God but Allah - no God but Allah and Muhammad is his messenger."

However, the head of the National Transitional Council later told Al Jazeera that Mohammed was not hurt.

Speculation rife
There were unconfirmed reports that two South African air force planes were spotted at Tripoli airport.

Speculation was rife that the planes were there to ferry Gaddafi out of Libya, but Mahmoud Shamam, of the NTC told Al Jazeera that it was unlikely the planes were meant for that purpose as the "entire area" was under rebel control. He added that he "did not believe that Gaddafi is in Tripoli".
Mohammed Dangor, South Africa's ambassador to Libya, told Al Jazeera he had no knowledge of any of his country's planes in Tripoli.

"I have no knowledge of any South African planes in Tripoli ... but Nato should know, since they control the airport and no plane can land without their permission," he said.
The rebels said they had entered the Green Square near the compound of Gaddafi where his supporters gathered nightly throughout the uprising to rally for their leader of more than 40 years.


Our correspondent said the rebels met little resistance as they moved from the western outskirts into the capital in a dramatic turning of the tides in the six-month-old Libyan civil war.


"Hundreds are on the street, and most of them are armed. Most of these are fighters who came down from the mountains in western areas of Libya. They entered the capital a few hours ago and with the opposition inside the capital, have managed to liberate the city from the government's control," our correspondent said.


"Everyone we have been talking to in Libya say that they want to Gaddafi and his son to pay for their action and for what they accuse them as crimes against humanity.


"People are worried about sleeper cells but cleaning up operations are underway to make sure there are no snipers in the buildings nearby.


"For the people here, Tripoli has fallen and they are in control ... and this is what they have been telling us: 'For years we could not speak, prevented from any sort of freedom whatsoever'.


"People are confident that the government has fallen and they are in control."

Military unit surrenders
A senior rebel official said the military unit in charge of protecting Muammar Gaddafi and the capital Tripoli had surrendered.


Mahmoud Shamam, of the NTC, told the Associated Press news agency that the unit commander "has joined the revolution and ordered his soldiers to drop their weapons".


Earlier in the day, the rebels overran a major military base defending the capital, carted away truckloads of weapons and raced to Tripoli with virtually no resistance.


"What we're seeing tonight is the regime crumbling," chief NATO spokeswoman Oana Lungescu told AFP news agency of the rebel push in the capital.


"What you are seeing tonight is the cumulative effect, over time, of the eroded capabilities of the regime," Lungescu said, citing more than 4,000 military targets damaged or destroyed in the last four months.


"We are not taking part in any formal coordination on the ground," she maintained. "That's not the mandate - we're not there to provide immediate assistance, or cover, if you like, yes.


"Obviously, though, we do track what's happening on the ground - and if we see tanks or other equipment going out to attack, we fire," she said of the rebels' aerial umbrella.


The United States government late on Sunday repeated its conclusion that Gaddafi's grip on power is near an end.


"Gaddafi's days are numbered," US State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said. "If Gaddafi cared about the welfare of the Libyan people, he would step down now."


Gaddafi defiant
Gaddafi's whereabouts were unknown. But he delivered a series of angry and defiant audio messages broadcast on state television. He was not shown in the messages. In the latest one, he acknowledged that the opposition forces were moving into Tripoli and warned the city would be turned into another Baghdad.
"How come you allow Tripoli the capital, to be under occupation once again?" he said. "The traitors are paving the way for the occupation forces to be deployed in Tripoli."


In it, he refused to surrender and pledged to emerge "victorious" from the fighting for Tripoli. He also called on the people of Libya to come from all regions to liberate Tripoli, saying he was in the city with them and that together they would fight to the end.


"We will not, we will not abandon Tripoli to the occupants and their agents. I am with you in this battle," he said.


"We do not surrender and, by God's grace, we will emerge victorious."

Gunfire and explosions were reported near the Bab al-Aziziyah - a sprawling regime command and control compound - and in the Souq al-Jomaa and Abu Sita neighbourhoods.
Rebels said some regime troops defending the Mitiga air base in the capital had abandoned their posts.
A senior official in the NTC said on Sunday that operations in Tripoli were co-ordinated between opponents of Gaddafi in the city and the rebels in the east.


"The zero hour has started. The rebels in Tripoli have risen up," said Abdel Hafiz Ghoga, vice-chairman of the NTC, in the eastern city of Benghazi.
"There is co-ordination with the rebels in Tripoli. This was a pre-set plan. They've been preparing for a while. There's co-ordination with the rebels approaching from the east, west and south," he said.


Colonel Fadlallah Haroun, a military commander in Benghazi, told the AP news agency that weapons were assembled and sent by tugboats to Tripoli on Friday night.[/TD]

Mkuuu hili sakata ni mix ya lots of things and positions, kuna suala la upinzani kutokea Benghazi, Gaddafi alishawafanyia sana watu wa kule, lakini pia kuna hili la NATO especially the US and UK ni kama muda wa kulipiza kisasi na kumuonyesha Gaddafi na wapambe kwamba usicheze na sisi mtaumia. Lakini kuna nchi kama France na Italy It is purely economic fight on Libyan resources. Italy ina zaidi ya $Billioni 20 invested in Libya. Lakini pia kuna the Arab league ambayo Gaddafi ali-idesert sometimes ago na kuwa karibu zaidi na nchi za kiafrika. Hawa somehow wanaona Gaddafi anastahili hiyo rebellion. Lakini all in all it's about the Libyan people. In fact hii rebellion ilipoanza with Tunisian and Egypt regimes fallen na NATO kuchip in Gaddafi had no chance.

Sasa tukija kwenye suala la revolution hapo kidogo lazima kutakuwa na so many different opinions in the air, lakini kiukweli hii ni revolution ya aina yake, maana imefanywa almost entirely by civilians!!! The spicing of NATO fire ndiyo inafanya credibility ya hiyo revolution kuwa questionable. Ila there was no way hao rebels kuadvance that far in such a short period of time bila msaada wa outsiders who are NATO in this case. The ugly part of this revolution itakuwa ni a full control of Westerners on Libyan affairs and this won't go without resistance. But for Gddafi inasikitisha lakini ni political miscalculations alizofanya yeye mwenyewe.
