The Winner, of the 3rd edition of the Startupper of the Year Challenge by TotalEnergies , Innocent SULLE for the Award for Best Business Creation Idea with SOMA FACTORIES TANZANIA GROUP, receive financial support amounting to TZS 20,000,000/ from the guest of Honour, Deputy PS, Ministry of Industries, Trade and Investment, Ali Gugu. Soma Factories Tanzania Group produces low cost Solar powered school bags using recycled materials. These bags have the ability to charge electronic devices and provide light for students to read for up to 8 hours a day. The event took place in Dar es Salaam over the weekend.

Another Winner, of the 3rd edition of the Startupper of the Year Challenge by TotalEnergies , Costantine EDWARD for the Award for Best Startup under 3 years old with AGRILIFE LIMITED, receive financial support amounting to TZS 20,000,000/ from the guest of Honour, Deputy PS, Ministry of Industries, Trade and Investment, Ali Gugu. Dar es Salaam, May 19th 2022 - Following the selection of the Startupper of the Year Challenge winners by a local jury which comprised of experts, the winners of this 2022 edition were awarded during an official award ceremony organized on May 19th at Hyatt Regency in Dar Es Salaam.

The three winners of the Startupper of the Year Challenge in Tanzania are:

Costantine EDWARD for the Award for Best Startup under 3 years old with AGRILIFE LIMITED. AgriLife is a company which operates a zero-waste circular system to manufacture eco-friendly alternative animal feed protein and organic fertilizer using black soldier fly larvae.

These young entrepreneurs will receive financial support amounting to TZS 20,000,000/=. They will also benefit from personalized coaching for the development of their project from Seedstars as well as benefit from increased visibility by being promoted to make them known.

In Tanzania, more than 1,000 applications were submitted, of which only 439 were complete and the top 15 finalists were selected to pitch their project before the local jury.

Each winner of this edition will have their project presented in front of a "Grand Jury" in charge of choosing, in mid-May, the three "Grand Winners" of the African continent amongst the 32 countries.

We are excited to celebrate the 98 winners of the third edition of Startupper of the Year Challenge!

After the decisive final stage during which the 15 finalists were invited to pitch their project to a local jury, 3 winners were chosen in each country. We congratulate them!

After the jury of local experts selected the winners of the 2018-2019 Startupper of the Year by Total Challenge in Tanzania they were presented with their awards at an official ceremony held on the 6th March 2019 at Hyatt Regency Hotel. The three winners of the Startupper of the Year by Total Challenge in Tanzania are:
