HI everyone

Kwanzaa poleni Kiswahili yangu mbovu but i will try.

Nataka kusafiri toka nairobi toTZ, longest I can stay is max 10 days. Sina mahali maalum ninapotaka kwenda, a day here a night there, kind of adventure

Sasa swali langu, Je Tanzania kuna (motorbikes like in Kenya)tuseme kwa mfano sh 1000 will take me from point A to point B kwa hiyo motorbike? kilometa 300 gari(bus)inatumia muda gani? Nikiwa siko mjini je kuna namna/njia gani ya usafiri.

Safari yako inaishia wapi( destination)?

Labda uwe specific kuhusu hayo.

thanks both of you.No mimi sio mtalii, im an original kenyan in need to see another part not just my village.sina mahali maalum as said, its an adventure.
Upande wa gari, ni public means and upande wa piki piki is for short distances lets say 20-30 km, kenya wakati mwingine pikipike yaenda haraka kushinda gari maanake daladala(matatu kenya) wakati mwingine huchukua mda kijaza abiria.
Safari yangu napanga kuanzia Dar nisafiri siku kama 8 hivi kuona TZ
thanks guys

  • DAR-NBI hiyo ni about a 1000km, kama utasafiri kwa basi itakuchukua angalau siku nzima (ETD ni 5am na ETA ni 10pm), hapa hakuna wasi -- barabara ni nzuri. Just andaa pasi yako ya kusafiria
  • Kwa kuwa unatokea NBI nakushauri hizo siku 8 uzitumie kama ifuatavyo: Arusha (1 day na night), Moshi (same as AR), DSM (2 days and nights or more), wakati wa kurudi pitia border ya Horohoro manake utakuwa umetalii na Tanga pia (spend a day or so here)
Karibu

I beg to differ, barabara za bongo sio nzuri kuliko za Kenya. maybe zamani ilikuwa hivyo lakini kwa sasa the kenyan infrastructure is way superior than ours. naongelea from experience, being a child of both worlds (baba mchagga na mama mkikuyu) and having travelled broadly in both countries. nakumbuka the last time I was in Kenya nilikuwa nimeenda kumtembelea bibi upande wa mama na I was pleasantly surprised to find that the road all the way to her gates is tarmacked. hesabu kuwa ni the in-skirts of Kenya, kunaitwa Kinagop and to my grandma's place ni uingie ndani zaidi. and have you heard about the Nairobi super highway? it's huge!! you have to see it for yourself to believe. me and my sis got lost heading to Thika a couple of times (a place we'd commuted to for many years when we lived there), it's a vast maze of roads na bado haijaisha (at least mpaka nilivyo ondoka ilikuwa bado)

karibu sana Tz chadesturi, it's a wonderful place and am sure you'll enjoy your stay here. a few pointers if I may
- there are alot of pikipikis in Tanzania, when boarding one, be sure to pick up one where there are many others parked as your kiswahili will always mark you as an outsider.
- while muggings and pickpockets are not as many as in Kenya, I'd advise you not to carry your camera (if you have one) in an exuberant manner when in arusha (blame the white tourists)
- have your money changed early, preferably in a forex bureau, and be sure to carry small Tanzanian notes with you at all times (our currency has some high notes like the 10,000 shs bill). this will help attract less attention to you -make some few friends on here of the cities you are planning to visit. its always a good idea to have a few locals in your reach if you do need anything
-carry two inexpensive phones. one for your local service provider back at home (airtel kenya and safaricom are the only networks I know that will give you any decent service down here) and one for a service provider from down here. despite what they say in their ads, roaming charges are expensive, and you best carry recharge vouchers from Kenya or arrange for somebody to recharge you from back home
that's all I can think of top off my head. good luck, leh

this is wonderful thanks guys, im so looking forward to my travel and my adventure and already counting the days, be sure ill let you know how it goes.
And im glad i asked, things like a cheap mobile or changing my sim to TZ tel provider to make it cheaper while there didnt cross my mind.

Bureaucracy aside you will notice little difference in the two countries other than salutations. If you want your journey to be fruitful and adventurous try boarding different vehicles as opposed to one. I entered Tz via Loitokitok as i wanted to get a scenic view of mt Kilimanjaro without having to climb it and it was worth it.

isambe, sitajitahidi kujibu kwa lugha ya kiswahili it will take me forever to put my swahili together for this but i will reply in english
First of all, stop being judgemental, being a somalian origin(if i was one, does not make me different from you or the next person)im not of somali origin, im a KENYAN FROM KISUMU but most of all im human first and origin geographicaly is not always an issue to me if you know what ukabila causes.

Im going for an adventure, i dont only plan to be in big cities to look at magorofa, and window shop,if so i could have stayed home, and i believe, to learn and know how a certain people live(forget about upangaji mjini) i have to at times use the beaten paths and visit REAL PEOPLE.And in kenya, the pikipiki are at times more reliable(time wise)than matatu or buses so thats the reason i asked.
Im not taking it personaly but i feel offended with your comments but still thanks for thinking the way you do, its a free forum, free world

My friend you are most welcome to Tz,You will see how life expenses is very very cheap compared to Kenya/Nairobi,mimi nimekuwa natembelea jiji la Nairobi,Maisha ya huko yako juu na ghali!

Well, Kisii town in Western Kenya is wayyy cheaper than both Nairobi and Dar, With Tshs 9000, you can get a hotel in Kisii wayy better than what you will get in both Nairobi and Dar, Food is very very cheap and if you ask anyone the way in Kisii, he/she could take you right to where you want to go and might even buy you lunch if you look hungry, beaten up and broke. Meanwhile, in New York, you won't even get an empty dusty hotel room fpr Tshs 9000,you might not even afford breakfast with that amount.....In New York, it will be somehow unthinkable to expect someone to take you somewhere when you ask for the way if lost. There's is no Mama Ntilie in New York, you got to have cash to survive. I guess according to you, Kisii >>Dar>>Nairobi>>New York....:becky::becky: .Lol, duke you have a stone age criteria of ranking cities.
