Kuna kampuni mmoja linaitwa "Domus" amabawo wanatengeneza bidhaa nyingi Tanzania kama furniture nk, kwa resources zetu za pale pale Tanzania. Kusema ukweli these guys a very, organized and proffesional and have been awarded many Government contracts kama za BOT, MoF, na mawizara tofauti, the only thing is its run and owned by Italians and some indians and very few local Tanzanians at top management if any (am not saying that this is the success factor...) They are very successful and produce very high quality products... My question is why shud a company like domus succeed and others fail??? I truly believe local manufactures can learn from best practices of such companies if they want to truly compete with imported goods. Tujipange mambo yataenda vizuri...
 
Nafikili kwanza ni kuangalia gharama za vitu vya ndani na vile vya nje ya nchi, ubora n.k
Katika gharama hasa fenicha, utanona kuwa fenicha nyingi za nyumbani zina gharama ya juu kulinganisha na fenicha kutoka Uarabuni.

Ubunifu wa mafundi seremala kwa upande mwingine unawaweka mbali katika ushindani wa kimataifa. Fenicha nyingi ambazo zipo kwenye soko zilizotengenezwa hapo nyumbani, ni ubunifu wa zaidi ya miaka kumi.

Ubora ni kigezo kingine, mafundi seremala wengi wanatumia mbao ambazo zipo chini ya viwango na hasa ambazo hazijakauka vizuri, hivyo kupunguza ubora wa fenicha na urefu wa maisha ya fenicha.

2.Hili la serikali kuagiza samani za ofisi nje ni kujitukanisha maana serikali inazo taasis kama magereza na JKT zinazoweza kusimamiwa na kutoa bidhaa bora na za kuvutia.

3.Serikali inapaswa kuenzi bidhaa za ndani kuliko za nje.. kama namna ku promote wazalishaji wa ndani...
Isitoshe, ni lini basi itaona umuhimu kuwasaidia wazawa nao wawe washindani?
 
I Gerezani maranyingi you have to make orders for goods that will take you 3 weeks to a month (na excuse chungu mbovu for further delay) and you still never end up with exactly what you want and the price will go up even after recieving a pro forma, there is no gurantee. My take is local manufactures need to get serious about there service offerings if they are to win the hearts of the local market, no one likes the fact that we buy goods produced elsewhere let alone order them from outside the country. But in all true honesty we are left with no choice. So local industry FIX UP and acheni biashara zaku babaisha and you will have all the customers you need!!!!


Very true... hasa kwenye muda....hakuna nayetaka kupotezewa muda wake.Wazalishaji wa ndani bado hawajajua wanapoteza pesa nyingi kwa kushindwa kuheshimu muda.Mtu mwenye pesa yake atataka kuokoa muda na si kupoteza muda!

Pundit you are very right.. lakini siyo wote wako exposed na mbinu za marketing za kisasa na mikakati ya kibiashara. Sijui ni kwa kiasi gani kuwa hawa wafanyabiashara ndogondogo wanapata hata tusemina twa kufundisha mambo ya msingi ya akauntingi, marketing, promotions n.k

Hivi unafikiri kuna mtu kweli anayejali maseremala, mafundi cherehani??? n.k wengi bado wanafanya biashara zao ndogondogo the old fashioned way.

Na ukija kwenye ubunifu ndio usiseme kabisa. siyo hawa maseremala tu bali hata katika sehemu nyingine za teknolojia na utendaji kazi unafikiri tuna watu wa kutosha wenye kubuni mambo na kuyatekeleza. Si tunahangaika kila siku na bodi ya mikopo, sasa si iko Elimu ya Juu na iliwahi kuwa chini ya Wizara ya Sayansi na Teknolojia pia? Hivi kweli tunawezakusema mtindo wetu wa kutoa mikopo ni bora zaidi na unaonesha ubunifu?

Suala la ubunifu ni suala ambalo ni changamoto ya jamii yetu. Sababu kubwa naamini nikuwa ubunifu bado haujaanza kulipa.

By the way, jana niliangalia suala la Fractals na jinsi lilivyoibuliwa na jinsi gani application yake ilivyo, nikashangaa how kitu kidogo tu kinaweza kikazalisha mabadiliko makubwa ya fikra na kuleta mageuzi ya ajabu katika sayansi na teknolojia. Ingawa mgunduzi wake mwanzoni alipingwa na wanahisabati wengine leo hii anaheshimika. So it is true we need pioneers lakini zaidi tunahitaji watu watakaotoa nafasi kwa hawa mapioneer to be all they can be..

Kumbe heri haya MADUDU yanaanza kufumuka huko majuu. Ulaya kuna hili gonjwa la Ng'ombe, Asia kuna Mafua ya ndege, na sasa China ndiyo Maziwa na mayai hayaliki. Wengine wansema utasikia hata samaki. Te teee na viongozi wetu unaweza kukuta ndiyo wanafaidi saa hizi hivi vyakula MADE IN ASIA.
Wakianza kudhulika ndipo watajua kuwa kumbe vyakula vya Tanzania ni BOMBA SANA. Nilikuwa nashangaa kwa nini dada yangu anatupa hela tununue mikate na yeye anakula kiporwa cha wali au mihogo/viazi. Nilipokuja jua kinachofanyika kwenye viwanda vya vyakula nikajua ok, kumbe mchezo ni huu!! Kiboko ni hizi wanasema SAUSAGE. Humo ndani wanaweka uchafu ...... ehhh, ngoja nisiseme.
Miti ya Minginga ipo Tabora kibao. Tukiwa JKT tuliletewa vitanda kutoka Mtwara. Jamani vitanda kutoka Mtwara wakati Tabora ina mbao kibaooo. Sijui ulikuwa ni mradi wa Makame Rashidi Makame? Upuuzi mwengi sana na upo Mkubwa na mdogo.
 
Mkuu umegusia mambo ya kufuatilia kwa kina ili ulalamishi upungue. Kwa sasa bidhaa hujiuza yenyewe kupitia ubora wake na upatikanaji vikichagizwa na uhamasishaji katika soko. Kweli serikali inaweza kuweka taratibu za kupromote bidhaa za ndani lakini wazalishaji lazima waonyeshe uwezo kwanza na wadai nafasi hiyo kupitia lobbying groups zao za kibiashara kama TCCIA. sasa cha kustaajabisha tumeshindwa kuonyesha uwezo huo kwa kuliteka soko. Mfano mingi imeelezwa kama kukosa mbinu za kisasa za kutengeneza fenicha pamoja na kuwepo nyingi kutoka nje. Kwenye marketing inaruhusiwa kuimitate kama huna capacity ya kubuni cha kwako. Tatizo letu hatupendi kutambua chanzo. capacity limitation is a bigger problem among many problems our SMEs facing. Sasa tuanze kwa kujifunza kwanza. Bado nafasi ipo ni suala la mkakati wa kukubali kujifunza na kutambua umuhimu wa soko.

Nakumbuka kulikuwa na kampuni moja kama hili ambalo lilikuwa linatengeneza furniture from soft wood e.g. pine kama za kule Mufindi/Njombe area - walikuwa mpaka wana tengeneza kitchen cupboards, bedroom furniture, door and window frames na partition za offices of which they had exclusive orders to produce for Ikea - sadly due to many factors such as some below, they are no longer in the scene na siajabu equipment zao waliziuza kwa hao Domus.

kampuni kama hizi zilikuwepo Tanzania wakati fulani na zote zimekufa mainly due to poor management, not thinking out of the box, and a general ufala ulitawala viongozi wake.

Sasa hivi pale Keko kuna shirika la JKT linatengeneza funriture poa sana and I think they need some more exposure and advertising. Enzi zake Magereza walikuwa wanatengeneza vitu mbalimbali lakini sijui siku hizi. Mifano ipo mingi sana.
 
Watumishi wanaagizwa nje toka Bangladeshi india philipine kenya malawi zimbambwe wao wanafanyakazi vizuri bila ubishi na wanajituma wabongo wengi wabishi wanajifanya wajuaji.
 
I think the problem here is how our local manufactures structure their companies and there marketing strategies, lets agree on one thing first; just because you can make good furniture, does not mean you will run a successful furniture company. Actually production of actual furniture is a small part of the business. First there is distribution; accessibility through good marketing and business development, Good concept, image and visibiltiy are essential (Mwana kijiji it is at this stage or with the business development division that tenders will be sought), There is customer service and support for before, during and after sales , (Am fed up of calling my fundi jus to here he has gone to tandale to get wood and that i should call back in the evening), Their is location, Most of our local manufactures dont understand the difference between back office and front office and dont show case there product (yaani zero understanding of the difference between workshop or show room), Our local manufactures dont have any specific product mix so there for the become jack of all trades master of none. Its very hard to find producers with a set range of products and very often quality level and designs vary too much. Lastly of course its the pricing strategy, most local producers sometimes just go by rule of thumb; not knowing whether their prices are competitive or not. (normally the pricing is done in real time depending on the car you pulled up in or the way you are dressed.)...

My Take:

We need appropriate division of labour. Lets leave manufacturing to the manufactures, lets set up companies that deal with all selling aspects, front office aspects and business development, product presentation and quality assurance and customer service as well as supplier handling. Just as Ikea's business policy these companies can develop supplier agreements with our local producers and act as a distribution and selling point for for example a local carpenter in a Just in Time supply chain management approach.
 
Vidunda, hiyo kampuni ilikuwa ya ubia wa Watanzania na jamaa wa Norway. Baadaye wale Watanzania wakajitoa kwenye ubia baada ya kutoridhishwa na uendeshaji wa kampuni na ufujaji uliokuwa ukifanywa na hao wenzao.

Mwaka juzi hao Wazawa waliojitoa walipata tenda ya kutengeneza madawati ya shule za msingi zilizojengwa kwa msaada wa Japan (JICA).
