Trump hawezi kugombea tena kwa kuogopa aibu ya kushindwa tena, ila anataka kuendelea kuwa relevant kama power house ndani ya republican hasa ukizingatia kuwa ni mtu asiyejua kufunga mdomo wake. Certainly, there are some serious issues in his business dealings. But it might be difficult to prosecute him. For, majority of his holdings are in a real estate area which is laden with tax and write off loopholes. Besides, it takes years to prosecute business cases and majority of them end up in settlements. So, in the context of his businesses, I think he will be around for the next four years or more.

With regards to 2024, don’t discount him. If his base continues to show him love and affection, he will run. I don’t see him taking the role of the party stateman which involves campaigning for others and articulating the republican platform in the media. For, in the last four year, we have learned that when Trump campaigned for others, he used to talk about himself rather than the person on the ballot box. That kind of campaigning works if you are the president or plan to become one. Hence, you ask voters to elect people who would help you push your agendas.

To his credits, he managed to resurrect some Democrats policies such as tariffs, tough immigration policies and unfavored trade agreements in the Republican party. As a stateman of the party, he’s an ideal person who could continue to keep these policies alive. The problem I foresee with this role is he will not change the way he interacts with people as his favorite means of communication won’t make the cut. He prefers Tweeter, big rallies, and calling Fox news. I think his current penetration in these platforms have reached the threshold. As a stateman he will need to engage with audience of diversity backgrounds in other media platforms or TV networks. I don’t expect him doing that.

I wish I am wrong. The prospect of Trump running for the 2024 will prolong the bitter division that has engulfed the nation in recent years. For, he will continue to use this division to power his campaign.
 
On other side, since majority in his base believe that this election was rigged, Trump might consider he wasn't defeated in this election. As a matter of facts, he thinks the election was stolen from him. So, personally, I think, there's a chance he will run 2024.

He lives in a different universe. When he sees the swath of red states in the election map being bigger than that of blue states, he thinks he has won the election.

I don't like the guy. But that isn't the problem actually. The problem is the people who have decided to follow him. In the past, if you lose presidential election, you disappear into the political oblivion and your followers will accept the reality and move on with their lives. With Trump and his base, that might not be the case. I wish I am wrong.
 
He knows that he made up that story of rigged election in order to cover his ass. He predicted this loss long ago and that is why he started creating this thesis of fraud in mail in ballots, and also tried to derail Biden campaign by creating non-existent Ukraine Burisima scandals that led to his impeachment. You know this guy is a big headed spoiled brat who happens to also be a thin-skinned moron; so he is terribly hurt for not getting a second term of office, and yet being impeached in his just one term. He would not want that to repeat. Even in 2016, he started complaining about rigged elections before he won, basically had he had lost in 2016, he would have started the same circus as what we see now.
 

I hear you and would prefer if he disappears for good. The problem is, however, he or his base believes the stories he makes up. Have you heard those preachers who claim that they are in communication with God? You, as a rational thinker, will say that this is a lie. But, you will hard time to disabuse the hardcore believers.

The Lawsuit...

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed the lawsuit Tuesday. The President on Wednesday filed a motion to intervene -- basically a request to join the lawsuit, asking for the same result. Seventeen GOP states also backed the effort as well.

They were asking the Supreme Court for an emergency order to invalidate the ballots of millions of voters in four battleground states -- Georgia, Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania -- even though there was no evidence of widespread fraud.

First the court would have to allow Paxton to file the suit. Then the court would have to block certification of the Electoral College vote, determine that the four states had allowed massive amounts of "illegal" votes, have the states revisit their vote counts and then resubmit the numbers.

The court could also, Trump's filing suggests, let state legislatures determine who wins each state or throw the entire election to the US House of Representatives, where each state delegation would have one vote -- and since Republican delegations outnumber Democratic delegations, Trump would win.

In a nutshell the Supreme Court was being asked to exercise its rarest form of jurisdiction to effectively overturn the entire presidential election.

The Ruling...

The Supreme Court’s refusal to even hear the Texas case represents a comprehensive rebuke of theories of widespread voter fraud or illegal changes to state election law that cost Trump the election.

SCOTUS doesn’t pick presidents, it is the people, through their electors, who elect presidents by casting their ballots and so motion DENIED.

Breaking News: The right-wing news outlet Newsmax on Monday broadcast a lengthy statement to "clarify" false and baseless claims made on its platform about two vote-processing companies, Smartmatic and Dominion Voting Systems, and the 2020 election.

"Newsmax would like to clarify its news coverage and note that it has not reported as true certain claims made about these companies," John Tabacco said on the network.

Newsmax also posted the same statement on its website on Saturday. It said it had "no evidence" to back up certain election-fraud claims.

Smartmatic, a digital-security firm, has threatened to sue Newsmax, Fox News, and One America News Network over promoting false and defamatory claims that the firm engaged in or covered up voter fraud, The New York Times reported.
