Nilitaka kuongezea jambo moja tu kuhusu Warioba. Wakati MS anaandika kitabu chake Sinde Warioba tayari alikuwa mwenyekiti wa jopo la umoja wa mataifa lililosimamia kutungwa kwa "laws of the sea." Nakumbuka akija New York kwenye vikao vyao nilikuwa namtania na kumwita Mr. Law of the Sea. Umoja wa mataifa!
 
Unajua hata anayefundisha kundi la Mo kupika habari sijui ana uelewa kiasi gani.

Ninakuhakikishia kama kuna mwanafunzi mwenye Div 1 na hakuchaguliwa highschool, hilo ni suala la kitaifa na hakika tungependa waliohusika wote wachukuliwe hatua ikiwa ni pamoja na kuvunja kamati ya walimu wakuu na kuwafikisha mahakamani.Mohamed, aje hapa na majina tutasaidiana naye kuhakikisha haki inatendeka.

JokaKuu sasa Mohamed atashindwa vipi kuzua kwa watoto wa highschool kama aliweza kuzua kuwa mwanasheria mkuu wa serikali na waziri wa sheria ni mtu asiyejulikana katika taifa hili na uteuzi wake ulikuwa kituko!
Kweli Warioba hajulikana katika Cabinet! Mbunge na Mwanasheria mkuu wa serikali!
Halafu tunaambiwa kafanya kazi kubwa kwahiyo tutulie tukiuguzia maumivu ya vidonda vya akili. Jamani! Big show!

Sasa nikurejeshe kidogo katika takwimu zake za UDSM (Muslim vs Christians). Mohamed kaweka 100% kama jumla yao.
Leo tunafahamu mwanasheria mkuu wa Uganda, Amos Wako wa Kenya, Garang na Wengine wengi kutoka nchi za Afrika walisoma UDSM. Sasa hawa wanaingia katika kundi gani? Na kama wakiwekwa kwa Christians, je nao walitumwa na mifumokristo ya nchi zao? Kama ni hivyo kwanini waingie katika mfumokristo wa Tanzania unatoa 100% Muslims vs Christians.

Yeye ndiye muasisi wa neno mfumokristo. Na ndio walimpa kazi Ilunga kueleza nchi nzima maana ya mfumo huo.
Ilunga kaeleza kuwa ''kwasiri tafuta kichwa kifyeke-Qisas''.
Tunamuuliza Mohamed, hivi huu ndio mfumo aliotaka uelezwe huko vijijini, anajibu hilo hana ujuzi nalo waulizwe maulamaa.

Kuna ile post vijana wake wanairudia sana kama jibu la mfumokristo.
Tumeshaondoa vipengele viwili.Nitarudi nichukue vipengele vilivyobaki walivyotumia kuonyesha wanavyojichanganya wao na Mwalim Mohamed halafu nitavikunja katika karatasi na kuwapiga navyo usoni.

Hili kundi dogo lililojivika dhima kama wao ndio waislam halafu linakuja na madai yanayodhalilisha jumuiya nzima yenye watu waadilifu, wema na waungwana sana ni la kuogopa sana.

Ninachokumbuka ni kwamba Warioba aliteuliwa wakati wa utawala wa Reagan, na kwa sababu ya kazi nzuri aliyofanya, hata pale muda wetu ulipomalizika Warioba aliendelea kuwa mwenyekiti wa law of the sea committee mpaka zile sheria zilipopitishwa. Kwa hiyo hizo sheria za kimataifa zina mkono wake.
 
Ndugu Ritz unataka historia ipi ya Tanganyika?

Kipi hujakielewa ambacho sisi tumekisomesha hapa tangu mwezi wa kwanza mpaka leo?
 
Ritz angalau kaja na swali zuri maana tayari ameshapata shaka ya kutosha (reasonable doubt) ya simulizi linalochosha la Mohammed Said. Kile kinachoitwa "historia iliyosahauliwa" kwa kweli haipo na hivyo haikusahauliwa! Kile ambacho Mohammed SAid amekijaribu kukijenga kwa muda mrefu nacho hakipo - yaani harakati za Uhuru zilifanywa na Waislamu na wao peke yao walikuwa "at the center of the struggle' na watu wengine (a.k.a Wakristu) walikuwa ni "dramae personae" yaani washirika tu wa tukio. Hilo halikuwepo.

Kile ambacho Mohammed amekipachaka kwenye historia nacho hakikuwepo yaani utengano wa kidini. Wadini wa mwanzo kabisa (kina Mashada Plantan) walikataliwa na wenzao wakajiengua; masalia yake ni hawa kina Mohammed Said. Kundi lile lilitaka lipewe upendeleo wa pekee kwa sababu ni Waislamu. Waliamini kuwa ni wao ndio waliachwa nyuma. Na ukisoma sana utaona kuwa Mohammed Said na hata Njozi wamejaribu kuaminisha Umma kuwa walioachwa nyuma katika maendeleo ni Waislamu tu; kwamba kwa sababu ya dini yao Wakoloni hawakuwapa kipaumbele.

Ukiangalia sana utaona kuwa wakoloni waliacha wengi nyuma hasa makabila mengi sana. Ni makabila matatu tu ambayo kwa kweli yanaonekana kupata upendeleo wa aina yake - Wahaya, Wanyakyusa na Wachagga. Na bahati mbaya (au nzuri) ni makabila haya haya ambayo yana Wakristu wengi (Wahaya nao wana Waislamu wengi waliosoma sana). Lakini makabila mengine zaidi 117 yalikuwa pembezoni; haijalishi makabila haya yalikuwa ni ya Wakristu au Waislamu au Wapagani!

Na cha utaona kuwa kabila kama Wasukuma (ambao wengi walikuwa kwenye imani za jadi) hawakupa mafanikio yale yale ambayo yalikuwepo Uhayani, Unyakyusani na Uchaggani. Matokeo yake ni kuwa licha ya watu wa Jamii ya Kisukuma (pamoja na Wanyamwezi) kuwa ndio wengi zaidi nchini bado hawaonekani sana katika nafasi mbalimbali za UOngozi. Wasukuma wanaweza kabisa kudai kuwa wamebaguliwa. Siyo wao tu makabila mengine mengi tu yanaweza kudai kuwa yamebaguliwa na hiyo haijalishi kama yana Wakristu au Waislamu ndani yake. Wakinga ni Wakristu kwa wingi tu lakini huwaoni sana kwenye uongozi mkubwa wa nchi (wamezama kwenye biashara sana); Wandali nao ni Wakristu vile vile, n.k

Ukiamua kuangalia mgawanyo kwa madaraka utaona wazi kuwa makabila mengi sana yako nyuma ya hayo matatu! Lakini hata hilo nalo hawezi kulaumiwa Nyerere. Kwani Nyerere alitambua hili mara moja sana na badala ya kuweka mkazo wa kuinua kikundi kimoja cha kidini (Waislamu) Nyerere aliweka mkazo wa kutoa nafasi kwa watu wa makabila mbalimbali kutoka sehemu mbalimbali za nchi. Matokeo yake leo watu wa kutoka Kusini na Kaskazini, Magharibi na Mashariki wanaanza kula matunda ya juhudi hizo wao na watoto wao. Inatokea tu wengine ni Waislamu na Wakristu.

Bila uamuzi ule wa Busara wa Nyerere uwezekano wa makabila matatu tu kudominate siasa za Tanzania ungeendelea kuwa mkubwa sana. Watu ambao wangekuwa nje kabisa ya nafasi hizo wala wasingejulikana kwa dini zao; bali kwa makabila yao.

Yaani mtu ana hiari ya kumtazama Bibi Titi aliposimama kuhutubia watu Mnazi mmoja kama mama MTANGANYIKA au tena akaona MWISLAMU anahutubia. Hapa lazima ulete ushahidi kuwa migomo hiyo haikuwa na Watanganyika Wakiristo walioshiriki (ushahidi hakuna!!!!)Pia, hakuna ushahidi eti wazee hawa waliitisha migomo bandarini na TRAU kwa kuzingatia udini (ushahidi hakuna!!!). Ushahidi uliopo ni kwamba waliitisha migomo kama waafrika waliopinga uonevu (Ushahidi upo!!!). Binafsi sijakutana na ushahidi kuwa wakina Sykes, Mtemvu na wengineo waliunda vyama vya TAA na hata TANU kama Waislamu na sio kama Waafrika walionyanyasika na ukoloni. Nitafurahi kuuona. Ushahidi uliopo ni kuwa walitumwa na uzalendo wa kiafrika zaidi.

Sasa Mr. Mwanakijiji, kama mtu anatazama orodha ya waanzilishi wa TAA au TANU yeye akaona Waislamu na uislamu pekee lakini haoni wanyamwezi,wamanyema, warufiji, wadigo, wakinamama au wazee katika hao, kifupi ni kuwa yabidi tukubali kuwa tunaangalia sarafu moja kitofauti.

Hakuna mtu aliebase kuanalyse makabila hapa,eti kabila flan lilikua hivi na kabila flan lilikuwa hivi,kilichofanyika nikuelezea historia ya wale walioachwa na kufutwa,sasa kuonekana kwa hao walioachwa na kufutwa wengi ni waislam basi ndiko sasa kunakostahili kuhoji,why?kwanin waliachwa na kufutwa?kipi kilikuwa nyuma ya ajenda hiyo??
Ukijiuliza mambo kama hayo huwezi kusema ati historia hii ni uchochez ama ni kushupalia udini..

Ningependa kuanza na vuguvugu la wafanyakazi dhidi ya ukoloni hapa Dar es Salaam 1948 ili tufungue mlango tumone
vipi Abdulwahid Sykes aliweza kutumia nafasi ile kujipenyeza TAA akachukua uongozi na kufanya aliyofanya akianzia na
kuunda TAA Political Subcommittee 1950.

Haya hapo chini yalitokea baada ya mgomo wa mwaka 1947.

[TD="width: 752, bgcolor: transparent"]In 1948 the colonial government brought into the country a professional trade unionist, G. Hamilton, from Britain who was seconded to the Labour Department to advise the union on the principles of collective bargaining.

Hamilton shared the same office with Barakat and fully engaged him as his assistant in the establishment and setting up of the union.

Hamilton had been a docker with the Port of London and had wide experience in port unrests.

The offices of the Dockworkers’ Union were in a wooden shack with corrugated iron roofing situated in front of the Avalon Cinema where now stands the Regional Immigration Office.

All meetings were held there and were attended by Hamilton and Barakat from the Labour Department and Abdulwahid and his executive committee representing the Union.Hamilton was living at Gerezani European Quarter where there are now the Railway Quarters.

Abdulwahid was living at Stanley (called Aggrey Street after independence in honour of Dr Aggrey and later to be renamed Makisi Mbwana Street after one of the founding fathers of TANU) not far from Hamilton’s house.
During the early days of the setting up of the union, Hamilton worked very closely with Abdulwahid, at times visiting him at his house to thrash out problems.

It was quite a spectacle to see Abdulwahid and a white man sitting on the veranda talking or bending over a mass of papers.

In those days Africans perceived Europeans to be superior beings and could only watch Abdulwahid rubbing shoulders with a white man with awe.

[TD="width: 752, bgcolor: transparent"]The creation of the union and the bureaucracy that subsequently developed with it, typical of any formal organisation, created a new problem for Abdulwahid. Collective bargaining demands participation of all interested parties to a labour dispute.

Dockworkers’ demands had first to be discussed by the executive committee of the union and then Abdulwahid had to submit them to their representatives.

Then at a later stage the demands had to be discussed by all parties including Hamilton and Barakat from the Labour Department. Abdulwahid’s writing flair, his knowledge of shorthand and his good command of the English language helped greatly in pushing forward quickly most of the union’s paperwork.

[TD="width: 752, bgcolor: transparent"]Unfortunately, very few decisions were made and most of the time negotiations seemed to be stalling. No meaningful decisions or agreements were ever concluded. To the dockworkers, the new system was tedious, cumbersome and time-consuming.

Negotiating was a new experience to them and something they had not bargained for.

This created industrial unrest within the Dockworkers’ Union itself.
Abdulwahid now faced an entirely new problem, a precarious situation which threatened to break the Union and destabilise his leadership. He could not negotiate directly with shipping companies, nor could he negotiate at his own speed and style.

He informed union members of his predicament.

He made it clear to them that the labour conditions obtaining at the moment did not favour militant action against the shipping companies or their agents.

[TD="width: 752, bgcolor: transparent"]Seeing no quick progress in their grievances the dockworkers began to exert pressure on Abdulwahid to speed up negotiations; otherwise they threatened to call a strike of their own without official backing of the Union. The method of negotiation for solutions to industrial conflict therefore became a source of friction.

Union members continued to put pressure on Abdulwahid to refuse negotiating and to call for immediate strike action.

Abdulwahid at that time was a young boy of 24 years.

An internal crisis within the leadership of the union ensued and the dockworkers once again resorted to marches in processions between the union office and Abdulwahid’s house, pressurising him to call for strike action against the stevedoring companies.

During the period of internal crisis which was threatened to split the union, Abdulwahid, Barakat and Hamilton were in constant contact using both their personal capacities as well as their official positions and government authority to avert a split in the union leadership.

Ukifika Alexandria usikose Insha Allah kufika Montaza Palace yaliyokuwa mapumziko ya King Farouk

Vilevile fika Greco Roman Museum kuna kasri la Warumi hapo na kila kitu chao kimo kama kimeachwa
jana.

Fika Port Said ni mji umefanana sana na Dar es Salaam.
Nilkaa hapa hotel moja Holiday Inn lakini kichekesho hilo ni jina tu siyo ile ''chain of hotels'' ya Wamerikani.

Nakumbuka jambo moja hapo Port Said.

Wakati huo kijana basi nimefungua radio napata stesheni moja kutoka Malta FM wanapiga muziki wa Motown:
Marvin Gaye, Tempations, Diana Ross...

Wakati umekwenda wapi?

Ukipita Zamalek Street usisahau kuwarehemu Ahmed Rashad Ali na Abdulwahid Sykes.
Ofisi za Radio Free Africa ndipo zilipokuwa hapo pamoja na ofisi nyingine za wapigania uhuru.

Nakutakia safari njema bila shaka itakuwa safari ya UMRA bahati mbaya mwaka nilipanga kwenda UMRA nikapata mtihani kidogo kutoka kwa jamaa yangu Inshaalah mwakani na mie tafika hapo.

Tashukuru ukiniletea kanzu saizi 62 mwili mkubwa ndugu yangu na kitabu chochote cha historia.

Kama nakumbuka Abdulwahid walikutana Cairo mwaka 1964 na kina Ally Said, Ally Said Maswanya na Waziri wa mambo ya ndani kipindi kile Kitwana Luga.
