Maryknoll walichangia safari ya UNO ya mwaka 1956.

Ile ya kwanza 1955 ni kama nilivyoeleza katika kitabu
changu.
 
Inapendeza sana kuona Mohamed Said sasa anakiri wazi yale aliyoyaacha ama aliyokuwa hayajui katika historia ya uhuru wa
Tanganyika.

Hili ni jambo jema, sasa wanapembuka kifikra.

When Nyerere went back to Lindi in 1959, TANU was a very strong movement and had virtually every African in its fold.

The Christian ‘educated' civil servants who had jeered at TANU in 1955 because it was led by ‘illiterate' Muslims were now showing respect.

They had to show respect because the master himself was respectful to TANU.

The government had realised that the people's will could no longer be ignored.

Nyerere had spoken before the Trusteeship Council twice, the second time in 1957.

TANU's message was clear, the people of Tanganyika were ready to determine their own future.

Each passing day TANU moved from strength to strength.

Rashid Salum Mpunga, the truck driver and founder member of TANU employed by an Indian trader, managed to recruit into the Party one of the most respected sheikhs in Lindi and an accomplished poet, Sheikh Mohamed bin Yusuf Badi.

When Sheikh Badi joined TANUa good number of Muslims followed him.

When Nyerere came to Lindi to discuss the hated tripartite voting system with the Southern Province leadership, Sheikh Yusuf Badi came out with his madras,kasda and dufu to receive Nyerere.

From there on people began to join the party in thousands as the colonial propagandists looked on helplessly.

Neither Mponda nor the Church could now be an obstacle to TANU.

Slowly but surely TANU moved into the traditional Christian areas of influence in Songea, Masasi, and Newala-Mponda's home area.

My host, born in Zanzibar, was as a child brought by his family to Mwinyijuma's house in the mid-1950s. the possibility of removing the British. He approached Tambaza, who agreed with him

that they were reticent about overthrowing the government".

"…..So Mwinyijuma approached members of the new urban elite in Dar es Salaam, such
as the Sykes brothers, John Rupia, and others who were part of a group of urbanites
who had lived in Dar since the period of German rule. She claimed that it was Oscar
Kambona who first introduced Julius Nyerere to Mwinyijuma and Tambaza. They had
agreed that they wanted an educated person to lead the movement, so they asked Oscar
Kambona to become its president. She said that he replied ‘I don't want the presidency.
Let's call my friend.' He then introduced Nyerere to the elders, who made him
president of the movement."

Kama kuna jambo tumemsisitizia Mohamed Said ni kwamba he has every right to his opinions na hata akidai kuwa Tanganyika haikuwa na watu hadi Wajerumani walipowaleta mamluki wa kizulu, Kimanyema na Kinubi...no problem, wanaotaka kuamini waamini lakini Mohamed Said hana haki ya kumiliki na kuhatamia ukweli, hapana, akisema uongo, we will put him to task! Kwetu wengine Mohamed Said ni mtu mdogo sana kiumri na mambo yaliyotokea miaka ya 1950s wakati yeye hajazaliwa, sisi tuliyaishi hatukusimuliwa baadaye mitaani. Bahati mbaya wote hatuwezi kuwa waandishi lakini hatutakaa kimya ukweli ukipindishwa makusudi kufanikisha mipango miovu ya wasiolitakia taifa mema.
Pamoja na majibu mazuri aliyokupa Nguruvi3, napenda kuongezea kidogo kumtetea Mzee Mwanakijiji. Huyu ni mtu ambaye, pamoja na kumzidi umri, alinivutia sana kwa nguvu za hoja zake ndani na nje ya JF hadi nikajiunga na jamvi hili May 31, 2008. Kwa muda mrefu sikuweza hata kumhusisha na dini yoyote ile na kuna wakati niliamini hana dini (kitu ambacho Mohamed Said na vijana wake hawataki kukiri!), alisifu na alikosoa kama GT bila kuangalia sura, rangi, jinsia au dini ya mtu. Mimi mwenyewe niliamini yeye ni mkereketwa nambari wani wa CCM lakini tofauti na wengi yeye alitanguliza utaifa mbele.
Sijui hapa MWANAKIjiji angetoa jibu gani kwani hata mimi sikujua hili...hata hivyo FYI mihadhara ya kidini ilianza kujitokeza mapema sana katika utawala wa Ali Hasan Mwinyi na ilikuwa inaendeshwa na upande moja tu kwa kipindi kirefu sana. Wapenda amani walilalamika sana lakini hakuna hatua iliyochukuliwa na serikali kukabiliana na hali hiyo na ikafikia mahali waliokuwa wanakashifiwa kila kukicha, nao wakaamua kujibu mapigo. Hata hivyo kukosekana kwa uvumilivu kutoka upande wa pili kulisababisha vurugu na hivyo kuiamsha serikali iliyokuwa ipo ipo tu kuanza kuchukua tahadhari.

Sawa Kabisa Mzee MS, kwanza baada ya heshima yako, bahati mbaya sikuweza ku-upload picha ya ile nyumba na kile kibao. Lakini utaona kwamba wakati mwingine people can for reasons known to themselves do what they see fit. Sasa kama TANU ilizaliwa Mwananyamala kwa details za hii article, tuna wazee wakuenzi tena? Ndio maana nasema there is a very strong need ya kutambua hatari inayotunyemelea. In 50 years to come, haitajulikana hata bonafide waanzilishi wa TANU tena ni akina nani.

Kwa sasa kilio kingi ni juu ya waislamu kutopata keki ya kitaifa, nina article ambayo yenyewe inalia na mgawanyo wa madaraka kimakabila ambayo Nyerere tena is under attack, kuwa kabila lake kawanufaisha (sio dini tena!!!!), yupo mdada (Geiger) yeye analia kuwa wakina mama pamoja na kuchangia ukombozi lakini in post independence Tanganyika wamepewa a "raw deal". Kwa hiyo, Kama keki ilitakiwa ikatwe kiKabila, ki-gender, na kidini basi Nyerere alihitaji msaada mkubwa, huenda hakuupewa.
 

Mimi ni mgeni katika JF, lakini kila nikiingia humu naona Mohammed Said anapigwa vita juu ya kitabu chake au publications zake, true scholars would counteract by writiing books by enlisting facts, humu sioni ni firimbi tu, kiandikwe kitabu ambacho kita counter facts zilizoandikwa na Mohammed Saidi, , kama nyinyi ni wasomi toeni academic and historical evidence za ku counter Saidi's writings and we can go even, further lets talk about far and beyond.
