We really have serious problem at our universities nowdays. Patterns of students available at universities nowdays lack intellectual skills. I think the way they behave reflects the characters of their instructors. They have poor level of reasoning at its best. I think the system of retaining Tutorial Assistants (TA) should be evaluated again, assessment should not base on GPA only, rather should also focus on individual ability to present or deliver knowledge. Because earning good GPA can mean different things to different people and environment. Some students are good in cheating, some are good in reproducing notes and some are good in both, We need people who understand and can explain the same knowledge in their own words to be retained at universities.

I have a feeling that, these lecturers especially junior lecturers who instruct students to reproduce notes in the exams have passed the rotten system to acquire their titles. Also they have another constraint which is very destructive for breeding future intellectual, they are very reluctant to absorb challenges from their students, they are not mentally prepared to accommodate challenges and I am victim of this shortcoming. When they are faced with students who offer wide ranges of challenges, alternatives or second opinion, they become aggressive and suppress that young mind. If the student pushes the boundary, the result is always discontinuation or plenty of sups.

At university, young minds are provoked to think independently, students are only equipped with different tools for situational analysis. If you find at university, students are organizing "makongamano ya kuombea amani ya nchi, makongamano ya kumuomba mungu aliepushe taifa na mafuriko, ajali za barabarani, rushwa, magonjwa ya milipuko n.k" conclude, that is a dormant univ. How could an active mind univ. students look for supernatural solution for problems which have scientific explanation? Most of univ. students nowdays are too religious, this signifies that their brains have not been unlocked, they are still narrow minded. They are too spiritual, they can defend their beliefs to death. If you come to UDOM on sunday, you will think this is ST. UDOM univ, students are busy with their bibles going to pray, asking god to pass their exams. I always wonder where is the problem with these young mind? Can we get great thinkers out of this population? Come on friday, the same story, it is as if you have visited afghanstan. Generation that look for simple solution to the critical issues. If you get Instructors from this population, what kind of lecturers do you expect them to be?

I will be raising different issues currently pertaining our universities taking UDOM as a prototype. The way different students and ex-students contributed to my previous thread titled "tabia ya kugawa maksi za coursework UDOM" drove me to come up with this analytical thread. Ni hayo tu kwa leo.
 
Unachokisema ni kweli kabisa, hata mimi nilisha wahi kuandika uzi zaidi ya mara tatu nikikinyoshea vidole chuo kikuu cha Dodoma. Nimesoma hapo na kupata shahada lakini sikufurahishwa na jinsi chuo kinavyo endeshwa, kitaaluma na hata ki utawala. Dini imejikita mizizi udom kuna udini unanuka ukifika utawala mkuu pale utakutana na harufu ya udini mlangoni tu. Wahadhiri wanapatikana kwa misingi ya ukabila na udini. Kuna makabila matatu na dini moja ndio vina hati milki ya kuajiriwa Udom. Kama hupatikani kwenye hizo kategori bora hata usiombe kazi ya maana hapo huo labla kufanya usafi unaweza kupewa. Ilifikia wakati kipindi nasoma nikajiuliza kuwa hivi hiki chuo ni cha serikali au cha ukoo wa watu fulani fulani? Au ni taasisi ya dini x? Jaribuni kufanya uchunguzi harufu ya haya tunayo yasema mtakutana nayo pale Chimwaga getini kabla ya kufika Ng'ho ng'hona, Social,humanities, Medicine,INFO n.k.

GPA za Tanzania...!!??? wengi wanazipata kwa kuhonga na kujuana (wanaume). Kwa wanawake wengi wanavua kyupi zao....

Tatizo lipo hapa "I will be raising different issues currently pertaining our universities taking UDOM as a prototype." na katika tittle yako. Nilivyoelewa ni kuwa unataka kutuaminisha kuwa unayoongelea yapo katika vyuo vyetu vyote vya Tanzania ila wewe unakitumia UDOM kama sample tu.
Ninachofahamu mimi ulitakiwa utupe sababu ni kwa nini umechagua "UDOM" na sio vyuo vingine. Nahisi hili lingepunguza munkari ya waliokuattack, vinginevyo hata mimi nitaamini una kitu binafsi na "UDOM". Lakini pia, una uhakika gani kuwa haya unayoyaongelea "UDOM" yapo katika vyuo vingine kiasi cha tittle yako kusema "all universities"?

Hapa mkuu nina shaka, kuna mwaka fulani niliomaliza chuo, hao wale (UDOM) walitangaza kazi za "Academicians", bahati nzuri classmates wangu wengi waliomba...nikijaribu kuwakumbuka waliopata (7) naona wote wanatoka katika makabila saba tofauti. Katika dini inawezekana umenipa kitu cha kunusa!

wewe umeongea kitu muhimu. huyu jamaa last time alikuja na mada kuwa UDOM wanapewa tu alama na hakuna supp. leo tena anasema walimu wanatoa supp na disco kibao. lipi sahihi. huyu UDOMCR ni either mwanafunzi aliyeathirika na system ya Udom. say kafeli au kafukuzwa au katoka na gpa ndogo. anachofanya ni hasira tu.

lakini anaweza akawa anasoma na kuna mahali maslahi yake hayaendi. juz alisema kuna instruction toka utawala kuwa. walimu wasifelishe ili chuo kipate malipo ya mishahara yao. tangu lini UDOM KAMAA CHUO KIKATOA MISHAHARA YA WAFANYAKAZO WAKE.

Hebu wewe cr ondoa umimi na uweke hapa matatizo ya udom tuyajadili si hisia zako za kufeli kwako. udom kuna matatizo lukuki lakin huyu udomcr anakuja na matatzo ya ubunifu tofaut na uhalisia.

Niliwahi kuandika hivyo kwenye uzi ule wa mwanzo. Huyu bwana ana mgogoro na kile chuo. Na nilisema ukifuatilia kwa makini post zake, haiitaji kuwa na degree kumtambua. Kwa mfano, suala la jumapili watu kuwa bize na bible,Lipo vyuo vyote na mpaka huko anapodai alidisco ndo akaenda udom ndo kulivyo.
 
Huyu bwana kilaza kweli mara anasema udom wanapewa coursework leo anasema sup na discontinuation ndo zimejaaa, sa tumuelewe vipi?? Huyu ni mamluki tu
