Okay good now let me expose to you what your leaders do not want you to know about electricity in your country. This video is all propaganda, now here are facts from the world bank.

a) Tanzania has a capacity of 1,521 MW with only 60% of this power available, most of the time
b) Only 24% of urban areas have access to electricity while 7% of rural areas have it.
c) Though the country's supply of electricity nearly doubled between 2005 and 2011, only about 20% of Tanzanians are on the electrical grid.
d) Nearly a quarter of electricity generated is lost because of poor transmission infrastructure.

Contrast with Kenya which will be the first african country to accomplish universal electricity access by 2022.
Kenya leads all its East African neighbours in deepening access to electricity by a wide margin according to a recent report by the World Bank.
The country was also listed among the top performers in expanding access to power in the period between 2010 and 2017 ranking together with bigger economies such as India.
At over 75 percent access currently (63.8 percent by 2017), the country’s rate was almost triple Uganda’s 22 percent and almost double Tanzania’s 32.8 percent and Rwanda’s 34.1 percent.

“Ghana and Kenya stand out as successes and are projected to achieve universal access before 2030, but progress in the region is highly uneven,” reads the World Bank’s Tracking SDG7: The Energy Progress Report.

Electricity access in Kenya has grown largely due to the implementation of the Last Mile Connectivity Project. The project was launched in 2015 and was aimed at scaling up connectivity in rural and peri-urban areas through subsidised connections. This has resulted in a surge in the number of power consumers.

This is not proof this is planning which means you are yet to achieve moreover Tanzania produces mainly starchy foods(Maize, cassava) that is why among all east african countries, Tanzania has among the highest rates of malnutrition in children and adults. Tanzania is far from being an agricultural powerhouse in africa.
a) Agricultural productivity is low with only about 15 bags of maize being produced per acre while kenyans harvest about 35 bags per acre, only difference is Tanzania has more arable land than kenya.
b) Kenya is the sixth largest producer and exporter of avocados in the world
c) Kenya is the top producer and exporter of tea in Africa.
d) Kenya is the top producer and exporter of cut flowers in africa.
e) Kenya is the second largest producer and exporter of dairy products in sub saharan africa after south africa, producing about 5 billion litres of milk and exporting mainly cheese and butter to middle eastern countries.

All of these we have done with less arable land than Tanzania, our arable land is not even half of yours. In 2018 kenya exported about $2 billion worth of fresh produce ie fruits, flowers and vegetables.

Without as much land as Tanzania, our productivity per acre is higher than yours and we also produce a wider variety of foods than Tanzania not just starchy foods like maize and cassava. What we have is a higher demand due to higher purchasing power and , our annual maize demand is higher than what our farmers produce that is why we import from Tanzania and uganda, when you bring problems we import from the deficit from the america.

Our wheat production is also huge but demand is higher that is why we import wheat from America.
Our fruit production is mainly high value fruit varieties for export that is why we buy low value fruits like oranges from our neighbors.
We allow uganda to export milk only to cement our long standing friendship, we have excess capacity for dairy products that is why we export to middle east.

More than 70% of the cargo that passes through Mombasa is for the Kenyan market. I would only be worried if Kenya ditches the Mombasa port😂😂. Hizo zingine ni Kelele za Chura!!! Waende wakiendaga!!

Yes you are correct, but that doesn't nullify the fact that Tanzania is leading Afrika with over 74% rural connectivity, followed by Nigeria 72%

Learn to listen and learn, here are facts

b) Only 197,272 teus in 2019 from 105,333 in 2018 were on transshipment to uganda, rwanda, DRC and Tanzania.
c) Uganda accounted for 75% of transhipment cargo in 2019.
d) In 2019 Dar port handled only 600,000 teus with 58% being domestic cargo and 42% being transit cargo, while 70% of cargo from Mombasa is loca cargo in kenya.
e) Mombasa port alone has reduced the cost of doing business in uganda and south sudan by an average of 16%, unlike dar port which adds costs due to unskilled labor and long delays.

Propaganda, that is not factual even the world bank disputes those figure, overall electricity access in Tanzania is at 38%. Facts do not care about your blind nationalism or your feelings. That is why you will always play second fiddle to kenya.

In fact the world bank notes that only kenya, ghana and south africa will achieve universal electricity access in sub saharan africa by 2030, with kenya likely to achieve this goal 7 years earlier by 2023. Your propaganda take it to your fellow Tanzanians who do not read or research, they are more likely to buy your lies.
