When those international shipping lines drop cargo in Msa and or Lamu, they can pick up exports from Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia and drop them down South, when they are comming back from South , they can do the same ... Basically this deal ensures Kenya will be a transport hub for eastern seaboard of Africa, especially now with the signing of CFTA
International shopping lines like maersk,CMA..etc transport goods at a quater of the price! Moving goods by the sea will be way cheaper that trucking them , once they get there, they will be transported via rail... We sell more goods to African countries through the quiet but stable COMESA that what we sell through EAC, so just because there is no spark in EAC doesn't mean it will be the same on all economic blocks

Wishful thinking.
Do you know what's Malawi CARGO?
TAZAMA? TAZARA?
Have you gone hungry if I may ask?Dude your reasoning is flawed. Food security which is a huge component of National security cannot be solved by imports or looking for alternative routes to ferry cargo.
Recently Corruption killed our viable solution for food security- Galana Kulalu, 15b spent and nothing to show for it.
Shorterm measures cannot solve long term problems some going back as far as 1963
Please be serious.Exports to SADC will nolonger pass through Tz. That's the main take! They will use the SGR to transport export goods to Mombasa, then onwards tp Mozambique by sea (which is cheaper anyway) then from there it will go to the rest of the SADC countries.
Once we achieve that route by sea, it also means it will be cheaper for Uganda,Ethiopia, Sudan to send goods through Mombasa and Lamu port to be exported to SADC countries that are not Tz
You forgot am a mbirrionare. But ofcourse many people starved including Mùgikus in Mukuru kaiyaba slums. And yes JPM "sanctions" on maize export and blocking the transport corridor almost made Jubilee break in half.Have you gone hungry if I may ask?

That's why I asked you to be serious. You are spitting garbage. This is a discussion forum
The same imternational ships do international business in almost all country ies, they also dock in Tz to deliver goods on heir way to South, so they won't pay anything that they don't pay already. You said you trade with Comesa but you dont say how much it cost Africa shipping cost is her than anywhere in the world. Having said that, a shipping container ferried from Tanzania to Zambia or Zimbabwe or Angola, and same shipping container from Kenya to those same countries, which one will cost less. Tanzania geographic location can not be ignored and I hope Uhuru Kenyatta will realise this sooner rather than later. unless ships travel through international waters (which is over 200 nautical mile away) and come back to dock in Mozambique port, they will have to pay Tanzania to use our waters. Same goes to airlines unless they fly on international airspace which is risky and sometimes costly due to more fuel been burned when climbing to higher altitude.
Like I said, this is a discussion forum, therefore, DISCUSS! And let your opinion be known or else, keep half-assed reactions (like, please be serious!) to your self. That's why I asked you to be serious. You are spitting garbage.
