The leaders of Ethiopia, Kenya and Uganda meet with their South Sudan counterpart in Juba today in a regional push for peace in the world's youngest nation.

Presidents Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya and Yoweri Museveni of Uganda and Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn are seeking to reconcile President Salva Kiir and his former vice Riek Machar, under the auspices of the Inter-governmental Authority on Development (Igad) bloc.

President Kenyatta is the current chairman of the East African Community and the Rapporteur of Igad. He has continuously affirmed Kenya's commitment to a speedy resolution to the South Sudan conflict.

Last Saturday, President Kenyatta met Kenyan envoy to the South Sudan peace process and his Ethiopian counterpart Lazarus Sumbeiywo and Seyoum Mesfin respectively, who briefed him on the status of the South Sudan peace negotiations.

The two assured President Kenyatta that good progress had been made in the efforts to restore peace in Africa's youngest nation.

"There is visible light at the end of the tunnel and the negotiations have entered the final stages where we hope for positive outcome," Gen. Sumbeiywo said.

President Kenyatta commended the two special envoys for their diligence.

Tell UK to reconcile with ICC first since he lacks credibility and charisma to solve anything so far a reason why you see him and IGAD henchmen talking with Kiir and Marchar missing in action! What IGAD henchmen are trying to do is save their sorry faces from embarrassment of being outwit by sharp dude JK! Unlike others Mseveni is more wiser he decided not to go there and chose to send representative instead knowing the Addis Ababa negotiation can't hold waters and I am pretty sure JK is having UN back up and China where he is currently visiting and the main player in South Sudan!
