Uhuru's Helpless Posture on Corruption Is Disgusting

Uncle Magu isn't barking, he is a real bulldog. If you get the wrong side of uncle Magu, you will be sorry that you have ever imagined.

Back to Kenya.
You guys need to drop your constitution, its not working. But Uhuru has disgraced Kenya today, this will create lot of headlines across the world and may scare foreign investors.

He should step down, he is clueless. Does he know what kind of damage he has suffered Kenya's image both regionally and internationally?

Look its up to you! while we do the best we can to keep our house in order you keep on drawing unnecessary comparisons to maintain what is obviously useless constitution. Tanzania model isn't a paragon of excellence but it works for us, and we love it as it is. Nyie mnajifanya eti we are too far....simply because you are too corrupt and dishonest therefore unable to accept mistakes. Yes, your constitution is great but so unfit to effectively address the current challenges Kenya faces and so many other issues Kenya must confront to turn your country around.

Yes, we are not perfect but mwanzo mzuri pia Raisi wetu aliilii kama mtoto yatima.

Kesho kwenye magazeti angalia hasa ya nnje, mnawapa chance ya kuwaongelea vibaya, what useless president.

God help us. I had to stop watching the video!!! The guy is whining and seems to blaim others. For Gods sake the chief justice can not jail anybody when your DPP and Attorney general bring half baked cases to court kwa nia moja tu! no conviction will happen na wewe you are first in line defending waiguru thief no. 1 in kenya!! bure kabisa.....

my friend you and Uhuru are in the same basket. its not the constitution, its the implementer. a constitution is a set of laws which cant work without implementation and good will.

Rais wetu hataki na hajawai kuwa upande wa katiba. just check him and his deputy kuhusu campaign ya uzao wa katiba. the deputy was leading the NO camp. Uhuru was supporting shingo upande!! back to magufuli and tz constitution.

TZ has one of the weakest katibas in afrika. TZ kwa sasa ni good will ya rais tu. Jakaya kikwete alikuwepo mbona hiyo katiba haikufanya kazi. wait until you get another weak president story itakuwa ile ile ya JK.

For the critics of the Kenyan constitution, you should know that it has been termed as the best in all developing countries, and better than most other constitution s in the developed world.

Even so, We must appreciate that it is a very sophisticated one and as such it will take about 20years to be completely effective. Transition from one constitution to another is not an overnight affair. It takes time and a lot of commitment and money.

However when it finally takes off, Kenya's legal landscape will be miles ahead of its peers (Nigeria, South Africa and Egypt).

Oh and about corruption, I'm a staunch supporter of Uhuru Kenyatta, but i still feel he has not done enough to fight this monster of corruption. It even appears as though he's condoning it.
As a president he can and must do better.

i was going to pass over this...but no. no way. Mr President is wrong. First and foremost it is in bad taste to laugh at the auditor general who is the one exposing the rot. Mwangi Kiunjuri was appointed by the president and approved by the Parliament, he is today linked to graft. F@~K IT..I don't care if parliament says there is a procedure or what not, I would fire his ass like yesterday and if the constitution speaks of a procedure, i would influence the procedure so much that the culprit wouldn't know what hit him. I would convene a meeting with my Judicial system and ensure that all current graft cases whether with sufficient or insufficient evidence are ruled against the culprits and maximum sentence given in all cases. THEN after that, start afresh. That to me would be the boldest statement to all corrupt officials and anyone else wanting to be employed by government for the sole purpose of eating!!! I'VE NEVER BEEN SO DISAPPOINTED AND IRRITATED BY OREZO LIKE THIS.

uhuru and magufuli are in two different cicurmstances.....dont compare the two.uhuru's power is limited by the constitution while magufuli is the constitution

Huo ni uwongo mtupu. It's an excuse used by the govt. so as not to perform. Kwani hao wezi are not being limited by the constitution?

The govt. is in charge of the Kenya police; kwanini wasitumie Kenya police kupigana na ufisadi ikiwa EACC wamekuwa zuzu?

4 Years after the two were elected we do not have a foresinc laboratory in Kenya. The head of the Banking Fraud Unit is himself a thief; pia hiyo you will blame the Constitution na Judiciary?

Kama constitution ni mbaya, why can't he propose an amendment? Hizi kelele za uvivu tu.

Hehehe..who has termed it as "the best"? A lie repeated 100 times doesn't become the truth.

And where do you get the 20 year figure?

The reason why this constitution can't take off is because it was made by people who knew nothing but to copy paste. which country in the world can de-link the implementation of education policy from the Executive? How dumb can a lawyer be and still breathe?

There is very little that is beautiful about this trash document called the constitution. Many Kenyans who support it haven't even read it. Heck, just ask any guy who voted for this constitution to tell you the national values outlined in the constitution and you'd be ashamed of the level of collective ignorance of the country.

All in all, Uhuru should not blame the constitution; the problem with him is that he is a people pleaser who loves incompetence to the core. He appointed Boinnet - an incompetent officer - solely because of his sub-tribe. And he is blaming the Judiciary? Very dumb.

Your assertion is like of one who praises his cat that is very beautiful..... but surprisingly, his own house which he lives with his cat is full of rats......
Brother, how can you be proud of a constitution which shields the corruption suspects... Inatia hasira sana

The Magufuli administration has charged former TRA Commissioner General along with two accomplices (former bank employees) with money laundering and economic espionage in the EGMA scandal. The case is ongoing but is one example of a high profile prosecution.

We have the best constitution in Africa, and it doesn't protect or abet corruption. The onus is for us Kenyans to live to its tenets.

Two bank employees???? A former commissioner??? Give me a break, a commissioner is just a puppet in any government organization, until you get hold of dark forces, high profile individual behind the puppet, you're just going round a huge baobab tree.

Brother, why are you keep on keeping me embracing something which is nonstarter? If the mother law of the land does not give the head of the state the legal muscles to fight grafts, why don't you drop it???

The war against graft is a multi-pronged onslaught, president is only supposed to provide political goodwill, but there are other players involved namely prosecutors, judges, investigators etc. You seem to think a president walking in on junior officers in their offices unannounced with a battery of journalists, is the most efficient way of fighting corruption.

It must be noted, corruption is deeply entrenched in our societies, givers and takers collude to defeat justice, we are surrounded by corrupt law enforcers, corrupt lawyers, corrupt judges, corrupt politicians and so on, but all pointing fingers so hypocritically, and this is happening everywhere even in Tanzania. I've lived in your country and I know you people so well, kwanza nyie wengi wenu wakwepa kodi wakubwa, nilishangaa sana hata Watanzania wasomi ukimtajia umuhimu wa kulipa kodi ananuna balaa.

A president can bark and spew threats and rhetoric, but we need to reflect and take a longer look deep inside ourselves.

This is the guy who defended QUEEN ANN WAIGURU...I hope we get a new president next year

MK254
All you said are correct. But a stronghold political will is of utmost important. We don't expect the president to be the only player of the war against graft, but the master of the bandwagon. Now if the master is losing hope, what do you expect to others??

I hold no brief for Uhuru, but at the same time am listening to him soberly, he is not losing hope, but asking responsible constitutional institutions to deliver. Right now there are 600 corruption cases in court, the judges are blaming it on police and DPP for handing them weak cases with so many holes. Police are blaming it on investigators for not doing their jobs effectively, consequently investigators are blaming anti-corruption institution EACC.

The buck is being passed between the various organisations nonchalantly. EACC caused him to drop four of his government ministers, on accusation of being corrupt, but up to now, non of them has been jailed or found culpable apart from hearing names being mentioned here and there.

I think he should have called the various institutional heads in secret meeting and strategize together and come up with a workable solution of hastening the wheels of justice. What he did was purely PR exercise, he simply copied or borrowed a leaf from president Magufuli of calling in media into a publicity stunt. Just wanting to be seen blameless but work is still not delivered.
A leader must take the blame graciously, whether culpable or not, as a nation we have him as our punching bag, he can't deviate or watch from a safe distance. He has to take the political responsibility. Asking DPP or DCI or judiciary what they want from him in full glare of the media, that was trying to avoid our prodding. He should have called them secretly and discussed those stuffs with them and have them swing into action with full political blessing from him.
