Kitengo cha Ulinzi cha General Service Unit (GSU) kimeweka walinzi katika nyumba ya Ruto iliyopo Jijini Nairobi na nyingine ya Sugoi ambapo Askari Polisi wa kawaida waliokuwa wakilinda siku zote wamebadilishwa.
Polisi wamesema hayo ni mabadiliko ya kawaida lakini wakasisitiza kuwa ulinzi wa kikosi cha nafasi ya Makamu wa Rais bado unaendelea.

Changes In Ruto’s Security After He Was Declared President-Elect
The security of Dr. William Ruto has been extensively beefed up since he was declared Kenya’s President-elect by the Independent Elections and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on Monday, August 15.
In Nairobi, the Guard Company "G" arm of the GSU has been deployed at the official residence of the Deputy President, a premise that Ruto has been occupying for close to 10 years and is yet to vacate. Similar personnel have also been deployed to his Sugoi home.
Citizen Digital has also spotted GSU officers at Ruto’s Kosachei home in Sugoi, Uasin Gishu County.
The photos below show the Karen entrance where the President-elect is still housed. The security detail is much different from the Administration Police who were stationed there last year.
Besides the security at his home, Citizen Digital has also established that the President-elect received his first national security briefing from the National Security Advisory Committee (NSAC) on Wednesday morning.
The Council exercises supervisory control over national security organs and performs any other functions prescribed by national legislation.
It also forms the transition committee that will oversee the handing over process from President Uhuru Kenyatta’s government to the incoming team.
Some of the transition committee members include Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua, Attorney General Paul Kihara, Chief of Defence Forces Robert Kibochi, Inspector General of Police Hilary Mutyambai, Interior Permanent Secretary Karanja Kibicho and Foreign Affairs Principal Secretary Macharia Kamau.
The security changes at Ruto’s residence follow an incident in August 202, when the elite GSU team was withdrawn from his residence and replaced with Administration Police officers.
The Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai said this was a “normal re-assignment.”
“This is a normal re-assignment of duties within the National Police Service to enhance efficiency and effectiveness,” Mutyambai said, “the Presidential Escort Unit continues to provide close protection security to the Deputy President,” a statement from Police Spokesman Bruno Shioso stated.
