The situation in Gaza is "apocalyptic" and there is a "heightened risk" of atrocity crimes being committed, the UN human rights chief has warned.
Speaking at a news conference in Geneva, Volker Turk urged Israel and Hamas to urgently take measures to stop such violations being committed.
"My humanitarian colleagues have described the situation as apocalyptic," he said.
"In these circumstances, there is a heightened risk of atrocity crimes."
He has also been asked about Israel revoking visas for some UN officials, and the impact it's having on the investigation of such offences.
Mr Turk said it is easier for the UN to investigate crimes once the "dust settles" and there will always be "lack of cooperation" from some parties.
He explained he has asked to visit Israel, Gaza and the West Bank, but he has not received authorisation yet.
