United State being a strong opponent and critic of China has finally succumbed to unforeseen COVID-19 crisis.



This comes despite the recent racist remarks from President Donald Trump against China terming COVID-19 a 'Chinese virus'.
The state of Illinois in the US has finally turned to China for help in the fight against COVID-19.

According to an official report from the state, Illinois has a total of 1346 new infection and 80 death as per 15th April making a total of 24,503 infection and 948 deaths.
The Illinois governor told CNN news on 14th April that he had finally given up hope of getting help from the federal government.

J.B.Pritzker the governor of Illinois went ahead to add that the state of Illinois will do what it had to do in the fight against the deadly bug.
In a press briefing on 15th April, the governor of Illinois stated that he is taking matters into his own hand by sending a private plane to China to get personal protective equipment(PPEs).

Pritzker's press secretary Jordan Abudayyeh asserted that the governor was working around the clock to make sure that the first responder's and health workers were equipped with PPEs.
The Lincoln state press secretary compared the process of getting PPEs similar to that of the wild west. This comes despite an earlier move to keep the purchase a secret due to fear of Trump's government seizing the PPEs from China once in the United States.
The governor stated that the Congress needed to enact the care act 2 to support the federal government in the fight against COVID-19.
Illinois is considered among the top three strongholds for the Democratic Party in line with New York and California.
