The fastest man on the planet plans to hang up his spikes in 2017 to protect what he refers to as his ‘legacy'. And Usain Bolt is hoping to bow out in style like Sir Alex Ferguson. His last ever race could be at the 2017 World Championship in London.

Bolt has criticised Louis van Gaal's tactical approach at United and insists that Juan Mata is too small and Wayne Rooney is a bit slow. Bolt was the first athlete to run 200 metres in under 20 seconds while under the age of 20. He was 17 when he set a world junior record of 19.93secs at the 2004 Carifta Games in Hamilton, Bermuda.

At Beijing in 2008 he became the first man in Olympic history to win the 100m and 200m races in world-record times. He then did the same in the 4x100m relay. In 2009 he lowered his 100m record from 9.69 to 9.58secs at the World Championships in Berlin. It is yet to be beaten.

Four years after his Beijing heroics, Bolt lit up the London Games and secured legendary status by retaining all three of his sprint titles. The 28-year-old is also the most decorated male athlete in World Championships history with eight gold and two silver medals.
