This is a CRH1 loco (china rail highspeed)produced by Bombardier Transportation 's joint venture Sifang Power (Qingdao) Transportation (BST), CRH1A, and CRH1B, nicknamed "Metro" or "Bread", derived from Bombardier's Regina.Ours the manufacturers is dongfeng.
This type of crh locos unfortunately cannot run on our sgr as is presently is as it will need to be first electrified then modified to become a 'cwr', " continous welded rail, in order for it to be able to handle the crhs sustained speeds of over 250km/h.
But hey why not, i believe it will happen sooner or later..

Tanzania on the other hand has bought only 1 since 1976

Well each year Kenyans buy 120,000 cars of this
21,000 this year will be Brand New cars
The rest second hand from Japan

Ethiopia is the secind largest car importer in EA at 56,000 cars of this only 2000 are brand new

They buy trains We use them for 5yrs they make profits They buy New ones we use them some more they continue making profits or How many Long distance kenyan buses have you seen??? Have you ever seen an unroadworthy Coastbus???

This trains will start being produced in kenya already they are building a train assembly plant in Athi river as part of the SGR packet mtakaa hapo na chuki mpaka mfe
