Mkuu naona unawaamini sana hao Ulimwengu na Samatta kwenye kufunga kuliko wengine.
Kigi Makassi amefunga mabao ma3 ktk mechi mbili alizochezea Vijana Stars

Uganda in uphill task against Tanzania

Cranes' Kasule goes for a high ball during the game at Namboole

April 30, 2nd leg
All Africa Games qualifier,

Tanzania v Uganda

TANZANIA'S Manyana Stars celebrated at the final whistle of their All Africa Games qualifier against the Uganda Kobs at Namboole on Saturday.

A defeat, however close it may be, is not a result to toast to. But to coach Jamhuri Kihwelu, Uganda should, after the first leg performance, count themselves out of the race.

One would easily dismiss Kihwelu as a braggart before glancing at the statistics. In the previous round, Tanzania were in a similar situation against mighty Cameroon but managed to emerge victorious.

Tanzania was edged 2-1 in Yaoundé. They beat the West Africans by the same margin the second leg before triumphing 4-3 on penalties in Dar es Salaam's national stadium.

Missed opportunities

But Uganda's return leg task would have been much easier if the Kobs had taken their chances at Namboole.

For long spells the Kobs had the visitors on the ropes, but poor finishing limited the Ugandans to only two goals.
Moses Oloya and Hamis Kizza scored impressive goals but equally blew what seemed like easier chances. Team skipper Owen Kasule was no better.

National coach Bobby Williamson said Uganda was a much stronger team but conceded that the finishing was bad.

Goalkeeping error

Perhaps the day's worst moment came when Kobs goalkeeper Benjamin Ochan gifted the visitors with a priceless away goal.

Ochan, who for some unclear reason had moved away from his line, was beaten by a seemingly harmless bouncing ball.

Ochan was again suspect in another aerial ball and there were questions why the technical bench opted for him instead of the more tested Ali Kimera who was only offered a role on the bench. Ochan is second choice to Kimera at Victors.

Williamson will also have to think of a replacement for midfielder Saddam Juma whose passes were most of the time misplaced.
