We are not talking about Somalia the state or region or whatever. We are talking about the Somali people. Some are from Somalia, Djibouti others are Ethiopian, Eritrean and Kenyan. I mean they were born in those countries and their ancestors too. Who is talking about tribalism? Am talking about identity. Not all Somali people are from Somalia.

Somalis are an ethnic group are spread all over East Africa, their ancestral lands. This land is called SOMALIWEYEN or something like that. Somalis are indigenous to Somalia, the Ogaden region of Ethiopia where there are about 4.6 million of them, the North Eastern Province of Kenya(counties like Garissa, Wajir etc) where they are about 2.4 million(2009) Census and Djibouti. That is Somaliweyen. Of course there are other Somalis from Somalia who have illegally migrated to Kenya and they are many, maybe upto 1.5 million, those are illegals or legal immigrants escaping from Somalia coz of poverty, Al Shabaab etc. The majority leader kwa Kenyan parliament is Somali, and yes Amina Mohamed, that foreign affairs cabinet secretary you were celebrating so much lost the AU chair is also Somali. Somalis are like Maasais of Kenya and Tanzania, or Oromos of Ethiopia and Kenya or the Fulani spread across west Africa or the berbers in the north. Tanzanian is a nationality, Somali is an ethnicity
