We are a confused country and it is all because of Nyerere, his philosophy was the stupidest in the world. Ujamaa Na kujitegemea haviendi pamoja. More to that Ujamaa na Uchumi wa jumla haviendani, tangu dunia ilipostaarabika nchi zenye wafalme matajiri ( capitalist monarchs) ndo zilikua tajiri. Nyerere was very intelligent, and part of me understands why he had to go with Ujamaa but still was it the only way to suppress ukabila?
I stand to be corrected at the time Nyerere was adopting Ujamaa policy was a postigraduate student in Edinburgh. That time Ujamaa seemed to be a solution for sharing a state’s cake to all. Russia and Cuba being the front liners on the practice. Even those front liners didn’t know the consequences of ujamaa. Countries such a as the UK adopted Ujamaa policy in some few things such as the provision of healthcare system. We are a confused country and it is all because of Nyerere, his philosophy was the stupidest in the world. Nyerere and Magufuli are two distinct characters although they share nationality.
Nyerere was a true nationalist who had a passion for his people and who upon realizing that not all of his dreams could be realised, decided to step down voluntarily notably in 1985.
The late Nyerere also keenly admitted failure of his Ujamaa Philosophy mainly on account of impracticability of its implementation.
But in sharp contrast to the current incumbent whose main deathbed is "Intolerance to dissent" and harbouring the tendency to be eulogised even when the credit is not due.
The current incumbent is even eager to perpetrate evil for the sake of power something that Nyerere tried much to avoid during his reign.
Whatever some may say in trying to compare the duo, the truth will ever remain to show us that the two had different mentality and of diverse character that keep them thousands of miles apart.
Jiwe is selfish by building an aiport in Chattle out of national budget. He's nepotist, chama mbele, breaches the constitution several times and so so. If think you know how Nyerere left Butiama. This jiwe resembles the characters of M. Sessesseko. I stand to be corrected. You brainwashed cuckoo, so you mean to say magufuli has nothing good on him?
During Nyerere the president ordered people to be beaten if they refused his Ujamaa philosophy, some were crippled by the beatings. Some people even died during the beatings.
Despite being a good and selfless person Nyerere had his flaws as well.
One thing Nyerere and Magufuli have in common is the selfless attitude. Magufuli never wanted anything for himself, he's just looking out for the country.
Saying that he " Magufuli anataka sifa hata kama sio mahala pake " is a total lie too. When did he ever show that? Attending projects unveils puts emphasis as to how important the project are, and seeing by his attitude it further means he's closely watching so nothing should carelessly go wrong.
Get your head in the right place, the current incumbent has a lot of good in him.
Baniani mbaya kiatu chake dawa.
What homework, if you know something say it. Did we prosper under Nyerere? was there any sign of development under Ujamaa? We live in poverty because of the concept of centralized government all because Ujamaa.Pole; you seem to know the words but you miss their meaning!
Go redo your home work to better understand Julius Nyerere.
The airport that he'll use only himself, what a selfish dude. Again I'm not saying Nyerere was a bad person, but even he ( Nyerere) did some bad things like Magufuli. Nyerere was a one man leader, no questions to his supremest; just him and his head leading this large region.Jiwe is selfish by building an aiport in Chattle out of national budget. Nakubaliana nawewe, he didn't know. Had he known he wouldn't have adopted Ujamaa, Nyerere was a good person. However, being a good person and all Nyerere and Magufuli share some good values together. They are both selfless which is what I've been saying throughout this thread. If you point out Magufuli's flaws I'll show you Nyerere's, that's the world for us; even good people do bad things.I stand to be corrected at the time Nyerere was adopting Ujamaa policy was a postigraduate student in Edinburgh. You are spewing nonsense, soko huria brought us Tigo, Vodacom, Zantel, Samsung, Renault, Toyota, Apple, Techno, LG, Clouds, Itv, Efm etcetera. It's easier to do anything now than before. Are you even in Tanzania? Nyerere accused Kambona of embezzlement ( mind you this was even before the Kagera war ) during early years of his presidency, rushwa was there it's not something new. As for capitalism not guaranteeing equal development, that's the basics of capitalism. You'll never be equal, only those who grabs opportunities or work harder will prosper. Capitalism rewards those with efforts, it's like in school; those who study hard and smart enough will go further with their education. If you're lazy you'll be left behind; ujamaa won't allow this, even lazy Juma will eat what hard working Salehe produced which is unfair.Mama Mia! Prosperity and poverty are relative terms my friend; the last time I checked; even in the land of opportunity, the bastion of capitalism, the leader of the free world and the worlds largest market led economy; the United States; the economies of the southern states is not comparable to either the west coast nor the northern east, let alone the large disparities in per capita income of citizens in the land of milk and honey! In the UK likewise!
Every era has its own chapter; Our post independence leader Mwl Nyerere did the best he could fathom for the country; the market economy has been around since 1986; since the passing of Azimio la Zanzibar! How much has changed? Have we progressed or regresses? All I can see is we have made huge progress in grand corruption, embezzelment of public property, personal aggrandizement, abuse of office, squeeze of the democratic space and grand abuse of human rights and the rule of law!
How well has the common mwananchi "Kayumba" fared in real terms; since the introduction of the free market economy (Soko Huria) as an engine for national
development/progress?!?!; I am all ears!
Garbage in garbage out!You are spewing nonsense, soko huria brought us Tigo, Vodacom, Zantel, Samsung, Renault, Toyota, Apple, Techno, LG, Clouds, Itv, Efm etcetera. Going back to what we were discussing, Nyerere and Magufuli ( it wasn't about Ujamaa na Ubepari ), share some values. They're not completely similar but they resemble in some way.
You have to have no brain to ask this question, I'll assume that you have a brain, that you're kidding and not answer it.Garbage in garbage out!
The question is: is the life of majority of tanzanians better today due to Soko Huri!9

utapata tabu sana!!Plz you man.....usiling'anishe baba wataifa na huyu jama wako. Hana dira wala mfumo, kila mtu alijua Nyerere anafuata ujamaa hataki ubepari, huyu jamaa wako anafuata nini?(nimuumini wa sera gani?) He is just a confused fellow, anatupotezea mda na rasilimali zetu.
