Kenyans have come to the aid of Julius Wambua, a man who was recently released from the Kamiti Maximum Prison after a court invalidated his life sentence.
Wambua, who had been jailed for an offence he didn't commit, had opened up about his struggles settling down in the community, saying that he had no place to call home.
Former Kibwezi MP Kalembe Ndile has since gifted Wambua a 2-acre piece of land and has offered to build him a house.

In addition, a well wisher by the name Tom Musau bought Wambua a brand new motorbike, which would help him run a business and earn an income.
Other well wishers have also gifted Wambua to help him embark on a new journey.
Wambua, who was released on Thursday, December 17, said he came back to nothing after spending 10 years behind bars. He was falsely accused of defiling his own daughter.
"Circumstances have forced me to start life afresh. I am a free man, but I lost everything when I went to jail. I have no land or home," Wambua had stated.
The 56-year-old added that he had been seeking shelter at his younger brother's house in Nairobi.
"I am concerned about where I am going to get a place to live," Wambua continued.
Wambua was released on a cash bail of Ksh30,000 and an alternative bond of Ksh200,000 with a surety of a similar amount pending retrial by High Court Judge George Odunga.
His story gained public interest after a 2019 feature by Citizen TV anchor Lulu Hassan aired in a series titled Prison Diaries.
His daughter, Dorcas Mwende, confessed to being coerced to frame her father by their mother. Mwende would later file submissions at the Machakos High Court recanting her original testimonies.
In his ruling, Justice Odunga ordered a retrial of the case noting that it had garnered considerable public interest.
