Mbona lakini tuna-jump ku-conclude kuwa waliohusika ni Alshaabab...

Hivi kweli Alshaabab huwa wanafanya mashambulizi ya namna hii?? (i mean tossing few hand grenades in a bus tand)

RIP to the victims.

Kumbe yote hii ni mawazo ya Saitoti...uchunguzi wa polisi bado:hand:

Lazima kuwa makini na hawa wanasiasa.
..Nd'o Kenya hio!...There is always a political angle to these press conferences.
...kem tusubiri.

It is not as simple as you may make it seem, if you can remember 1962-67 era, so the KDF colonel Cyrus Oguna has said time and again that it could be alshabaab sympathizers or other groups, but they cannot certainly conclude that is Alshabaab.

I fully agree, Mzalendo452, ..but... I say again,... but.. The Somali conflict is nothing to be taken as a simple matter, that can be solved by simply sending in troops to "fight" Al-shabaab and sympathizers. First of all, ask yourself, who is Alshabaab?.. Could be anyone in the street, but how do you recognize them? You can't.! At the moment, KDF have got troops in Somalia fighting Al=Shabaab militias.! Don't you think it could have been a good idea to send troops in Eastleigh? What is the point of fighting an enemy outside the country, while the enemy in particular is sitting in your backyard? Is that clever?

You see, I have been to a town called Bosaso in Somalia on a UN mission. Personally, whenever I go to a new place, I make it a point of mixing with the locals to see what makes them tick. The Somali conflict is nothing new. It is a very ancient clan war. In the old days, they didn't have modern weapons (the had only clubs, bows and arrows) so the war was not significant. Believe me, no one can ever control Somalis, except the clan elders. Sending troops, will only make matters worse. Also you have to understand that Somalis are a fiercely proud people. Among other things they hate, is outsiders interfering in their wars and clan affairs.

Don't be duped by this "Islamic militants" business. Pope Benedict is more Islamic than Al-shabaab. I tell you. Carrying the so-called Islamic name is just a trick to earn sympathy from Islamic groups.

The fact that the enemy is within gives us the justification to act with lethal force, so when KDF and other security organs are at work, they don't carry out pre-emptive operations. The Security personell cannot sit and wait, hoping that alshabaab will simply diffuse into oblivion. Their pride is becoming a nuisance and their action is literelly making the horn of Africa a "horn" since with such pride they can't still independently make political mileage

whatever the somalis do as long as it infringes on the Kenyan interest warrants a response. Before KDF deployed all scenarios were played out in a control room and a contigent deployment at the border couldnt do the trick. Mark you KDF have been patrolling the borders since it was closed and troops deployed back in 2006 or somewhere around those timelines. This never helped, the ambushes persisted coz the border is just too big to police. The KDF assault was the last card and it has degraded this faceless outfit considerably, Created conditions that favour lapsset and also resumption of normalcy at the border front. If you ask me, KDF has achieved its primary GOAL by making LAPPSET possible. Kismayu can be toyed around with for a while for strategic purposes, *join the dots*.

Kenya police arrest 4 over blasts at Nairobi bus stop that killed 6, lawyer says

NAIROBI, Kenya
— A lawyer says Kenyan police have arrested a man and three teenagers over a weekend explosion at a bus stop that killed six people.

Mbugua Mureithi said Monday that police arrested Sylvester Opiyo and three teens on Sunday. Opiyo turned himself in to police in December after authorities said he was wanted. He was then released without charge.

Mureithi said police are arresting “the usual suspects” and it was unclear what evidence linked Opiyo to the attack.
Police did not answer calls seeking comment.

The police have said they are investigating whether the Saturday night grenade attack was linked to Somalia’s al-Qaida-linked al-Shabab militia. Al-Shabab sympathizers have carried out several attacks since Kenyan troops moved into Somalia in October.

NB: Hilo jina la Sylvester Opiyo sio la kisomali!

These are just freshmen from high school, so they may not be well versed with the history and negative influences of terrorism in East African Region

When it comes to matters of defence against external threats, Kenya has always proved that when it carries out Miltary operations, they are not driven by factors like strategic interests, and this is where the international community gets the whole thing wrong. And BTW, there is a significant commendation internationally on how the Kenyan incursion has helped almost cripple Alshabaab to its knees.

its difficult to convince them otherwise on strategic issues and as long as they take it at face value and finance the war there's no biggie to KDF. Afterall, KDF is performing a global obligation that other nations have shyed away to acknowledge. Alshabaab is a gone case, i cosign.

Somali Islamists have denied being behind Saturday's grenade blasts in the Kenyan capital Nairobi, in which at least six people were killed. The militant Al-Shabab "bears no responsibility whatsoever for the turbulence", a press release says.

Kenya's Internal Security Minister George Saitoti had accused the group of throwing four grenades from a passing car at a busy bus station.

Al-Shabab has threatened to attack Kenya after it sent troops to Somalia.

"Al-Shabab has nothing to do with the hand grenade attacks that hit Nairobi," Sheik Mohamed Ibrahim, an official from the group, is reported as saying by the AFP news agency. "We are not actually involved in such low-scale attacks," he said.

Mohammud Ali, a journalist, says al-Shabab is not usually shy about admitting when it is behind an attack.

The group has posted videos online of Kenyan officials they kidnapped in January from the border region. But it has never claimed responsibility for any of the other explosions Kenyan authorities say it carried out in north-eastern Kenya in recent months.
