Haha your funny, ati "not rated due to the fact is not creditable". With over 57 tcf LPG and counting m laying on the ground. Gold reserve you can't find any where in the region, with iron ore which we can mine for over 100yrs, uranium, nickel, human capital, bordering with 8 counties or markets, the big fat ocean not to mention tourism and your saying not creditable?? Haha your funny really funny.

We didn't go to those hyenas creators and ask for the forgiveness, UN under MDG did that. And is not only Tanzania who were let off, so many other countries did it too. But now we're watching our PnQ, we don't rush to things we are not sure about including "slave loans" from China.
Plus lowest inflation in the region at 5%!

But the gas was discovered only recently, and it is yet to be extracted.
But even with all the other valuable minerals u were known to possess, your credit rating was still bad.

It is now that you are seeking to improve your ratings, negotiating with the Moody's and Fitch to secure favorable ratings to enable you access loans from a Swiss bank and to issue Eurobond that would enable your country actualize its development goals.

Laugh not at our debts, if u are also seeking to achieve the same levels of infraatructural development as Kenya. You will be compelled to borrow, and borrow big.

The Gas was discovered in 70s, we didn't want to rush to so called "dutch disease". And in regard to all those credit rating agency is Tanzania who call the shorts not them. We choose when to be rated and where, mind you credit rating isn't the only option for us, we can simply borrow against our own assets if we chose to do so. As I said before we weigh all the options and pick the one favoring us.

Shaddup! What are u even saying, u are not helping matters here in anyway.

Your huge deposits of gas was discovered nearly 5-decades ago? My oh my!
I thot this stuff was discovered at around the same period as our oil!

But the bottomline is that, all these wealth have over the years done little to nothing to save Tanzania's past difficult financial situation.

And those credit ratings....if u think they are unnecessary, u are wrong! They are vert very very important, it is what the creditors rely on to determine whether to grant the loan request or not.

Thea4, u cannot sat that Tz can do without those ratings, that it can simply approach a financial institution and walk away with the loan. Why then is it in negotiation with Moody's if things were that simple?

Dude, 70's is not 5 decades ago, who was your math teacher, are you catching a nap. Maybe you miss the part i said Dutch Disease, I think you should Google it to understand the meaning of the phrase. Everything you mention about Tanzania assets is within that phrase, so Google it.

Kenya your rushing to sale oil is because that is your survival, if you don't sale oil what else will you sale and give you same return as oil. But the only issues is, you've turn up to the oil party is just coming to an end. The prices are down, there more players, and the world is turning its back on oil.

As for the credit rating being import, who did we survive all these years with 7% growth real terms? how come we can still attract loans from other organization like OPEC, Arab league, Japan etc and in favorable rates and conditions? You go to Moody and Co. if you want to get yourself on bond market. Bilateral loans and trade is still performed by many governments including Kenya.

What do you mean by claiming we are rushing to sell oil because it's our survival, can you read that statement ten times and tell me if you still believe it.
Our economic growth has been on upward trajectory, we have been the big daddy of East and Central Africa for far too long and leading on just about everything yet without us selling a drop of oil. This resource is just a bonus to us, will propel our already stable economic growth to new level.

Why all of a sudden do we have to be advised by Tanzanians on growing our economy? Mnaudhi, take the advice to Magufuli, nkt

So, who are you? The messiah? Who is worried about Kenya??

One thing i know, nobody is going to grab you and drag you from Bongo to come and live in Kenya and help pay the dept!!

Soooooo, what was your advice again??

You're not taking loans because nobody is willing to loan you, not because you've chosen not to.

Haha ati "the big daddy of East Africa " which kenya are you talking about, the kenya of Mr. Njiroge or the kenya of Mr. Smith?

We all know without Mr. Smith, Mr. Njoroge would've been just like another straggling African man. You can't compare Farmers Choice with Cooperative Union or Unilever and Brookside Dairies . You see, Farmers Choice belongs to Mr. Smith, Cooperative Union belongs to Mr. Njoroge. Do you catch my drift??

You didn't read my comment correctly, I said were not taking any unnecessary loans. You know, the loans which are obtained through kickbacks. i.e Kenya SGR

Why Kenyans like to compare their problems with Tanzania.

Yeah! And who owns KCB and Equity bank, the top big daddies of banks in East and Central Africa. For your information check up how Equity bank started from the backdrop of some Kenyan village.

I don't see anything new there, even in Tanzania we've so many companies which they've started from nothing and today there trading in millions of dollars in various countries.

There is not one single Tanzania's wazawa bank worth US$3.681 billion like KCB.

But CRDB is worth more than $2.1 billion, and they didn't have to put themselves at risk by jumping on the other economies which sometimes they can be unstable. KCB and Co. are at the mercy of the economy of the countries they've invested in. If we go down, you'll go down with us.
