What East Africa will look like in 2030 and 2050; numbers don't lie!

Congo has nearly all important minerals, just like south Africa, lacking only Oil!! It could be with South Africa or beyond
it is said drc congo has minerals worth $24 trillion !!!! thats more than the combined GDP of USA and EU......... hapo hata usijaribu kufikiria what could have been, they can literally fund the whole of African governments for the next decade

That someone thinks that Tanzania will be a trillion dollar economy by 2050 is the biggest joke of the century. Tanzanians have been talking about the "sleeping giant" for the last 5 years on this forum, yet they are still trailing.

Man, what a pitty!! What about Nigeria, It also has huge amount of Minerals of the same magnitude not so??

Tanzania was supposed to beat Kenya economically in the year 2000. Today's 17 years later. The same story still goes

nah, hakuna nchi inafikia drc...

Naigeria was overtaken by angola in oil production .....they have huge amounts but not to the size of other major opec countries like Saudi, russia

This won't happen with this regime in power.

Nigeria Equitorial Gueinea and Angola are the stupidest african countries out there especially Angola and EG

See this
Angola produces
1.5mn barrels a day translating to 76bn$ a year from 2009-2013 when the oil market was still stable

Angola is 3 times the size of Kenya

With a 1300km coastline

With get this 21mn people

I dunno why most angolans are still poor

They bailed out Portugal with a 120bn$ loan to avoid decaulting

They spend 8bn$ annually on military

Technically
1yr sales of oil in Angola

Can build
Evry one in Angola,Namibia, Botswana and Malawi a home

Put
45mn acres of land to irrigation and build and Airport or 48,000km of Rail

But nooooo

Pesa wanagawana kwa familia

Smh

EG is even sadder the country makes 8bn$ a year from oil sales it has 522,000 people leaving in a space slightly larger than Nakuru county...

I dont see how one can be a leader in EG and see ur pple suffering and still squander money

Kenya we dont have those our exports are less than EG but our usage far outways them That is why an Oil blessing will go miles my man!!

Father Lord Aki Tuonekanie na Mafuta and we will gve Nigeria 2yrs to be thrown out of the top ten

We develop EA mara moja toka Ethio mpaka Malawi Tuambie Naija this is how u use ur resources !! Like Libya was planning to do to Africa bfore West killed Gadhafi

Thats besides the point
And if they are not making money now by giving oil for free in exchange of investment in the area which isn't part of economy stimulate like military and the pockets of big politician. How will Angola keep its glory without meaningful investment?

I thing I heard on bbc that the long standing president dos santos has decided to step down after mote than three decades of looting so who knows what angola would be 10years later

Your right, we all don't know were Angola will be in 10 years, but if we leave his daughter and son on one side even though they both own huge amount of Angolan wealth, do you think the Chinese will leave Angola alone? Chinese are forcing their roots into African soil and they are not shy about.

Hahaha i admit the democratic space in Tanzania has been shrinking under our current President, but i do not for a second doubt that he is the man that will deliver this country from the shackles of poverty. Problem is, he has alot on his plate, and he wants to accomplish so much in a short timespan and with a very limited budget. Jana I heard ujenzi wa JNIA terminal III umesimama, mara ndege ziko njiani, huku Selander bridge imeanza kule Reli ya kati, then Mwendokasi phase II loooh.....na hapo bado safari ya Dodoma.
My only quarrel with Magufuli is how he seems to also marginalize Agriculture like his predecessors, kitu ambacho ni cha ajabu given that he likes to think his policies pro-poor. Na elimu pia i don't feel like he is treating that issue with the seriousness it deserves.

South Africa-Nigeria is different from Kenya-Tanzania.
Kenya and TZ have so much more in common kuliko SA-Nigeria.
Our and your per capita GDPs are not worlds apart, unlike hiyo mifano yote uliyotoa. Your population is growing almost as fast as ours, yet our economy is growing faster than yours. Get that into your hollow skull!
Yes we have much in common is most parts but not everything...

Tanzania population 2016 = 55,155 Million
Kenya population 2016 = 47,251 Million

Difference in population >>> 7,904 Million 2016 - In favour of Tanzania

Kenya GDP/Capita - 1,522 USD -2016 -Lower Middle Income
Tanzania GDP/Capita -960 USD -2016 -Low income

Difference in per capita income 562 USD 2016 -In favour of Kenya

Ok, Now lets assume IMF is right in its projection, that non of our countries will find any innovative ways to stimulate the economies to be mechanised and industrialized and our economies growth rates remain the same for the next 45 years up to 2060...

So tanzania population growth is 3% while Kenya is 2.6% of poputation.... according to this article and supported by these UN websites that predict population growth
PopulationPyramid.net
PopulationPyramid.net
tz population projection 2060.jpg

------------------------------------>>>
Ke population projection 2060.jpg

So Based on IMF GDP projections for 2060

Tanzania GDP = 529,150 Billion USD
Kenya GDP = 476,446 Billion USD

Tanzania Population 2060 = 168,831 Million
Kenya Population 2060 = 110,756 Million

Differnce in population >>> 58,075 Million!!! 2060 -In favour of Tanzania

Kenya GDP/Capita 2060 = 4, 301 USD Upper Middle Income
Tanzania GDP/Capita 2060 = 3,134 USD Lower Middle Income

Difference = 1,167 USD - In favour of Kenya
(in those 44 years, Kenya would have doubled the gap difference in per capita)

ofcourse all this is just predictions based on current trends locally, regionally and globally, who knows what wil happen tommorrow that can change the futures of our cuntries??? I mean could anyone have predicted what South Korea or turkey or singapore or malaysia economies would be today, 45 years ago??????
