What Kenya can teach Tanzania and vice versa

Which seaport effieciency are you talking about? you might have forgotten the pathetic condition of your Rift Valley Railway (as usual brainwashed by your media)! Of all these years (<2000) Tanzania has been a transit point of all Zambian, Malawian, >50% of Ugandans leavingaside DRC's, Burundi's and Rwanda, where were you? Or you have just seen a moon to be bragging as if it is the end of the World after having captured the Ugandan cargo business! For your info. Rwandese and Burundians are putting up a railway to Isaka whereas the Chinese are putting up a railway to link up with Tazara! While Ugandans are contemplating to use the whole Tanga port by themselves! Keep on bragging we don't go and ask advice for someone a fool like us! we have nothing to learn from you! I REPEAT, END OF THE STORY!!

I don't think there is any Tanzanian who is disturbed by Kenya's advancement, however little it may be. A problem to me is when you become a liability to us! and u r already are! You use treachery to sneak in, you keep patronizing on what we should do with our resources even when it's not in our best interests eg Bologonja case. Using ur tribal network to bring in unnecessary Kenyans workers at the expense of Tanzanians. The East African is ur propagandist paper with your henchmen/ Ugandan turned Kenyan like Onyango Obbo! Kimsingi mtanadhani sisi hatuna akili! Unategemea kuwa hiyo kitu ni sustainable, watu watawachukia and you will pay the price, as u r alreadu paying in Southern Sudan. Moreover, i wish you were deleveloped, because you wouldn't be always on our diks!

Baba, jiseme wewe siyo sisi watanzania, Mi simo! wangekuwa hawana matatizo makubwa pengine ningekubali.

Haahaaaaa... lack of etiquette!
Watz wenzangu kama hali ndo hii tunajiaibisha sana.
You cant even argue professionally!! Loooh!
Endelea ku-assume.
Aibu aibu aibu....

Kama ha-argue proffessionally, then do it. That what we are here for, to read you! By the way, Geza Ulole na Eliekeem are smart guys, they always substantiate their arguments, wako na data baba!, don't joke around!

That Onyango Obbo is first a Baganda and second he is a refugee! There is nothing meaningfull you can hear from his mouth! he tried to undermine Ugandan Government and Museveni (a product son of Tanzania) wanted to flog his neck i will put up his replies once i wrote an email to him questioning his credibility he answered me arrogantly! then i kept quiet cause i knew how narrow minded he is!

I side with you in some areas and not supporting you in other areas. It is true fact that we need each other in seeing improved sectors especially in Hotel Industry ofcoz minus the theft-cases, Tour Operation and in some aspect customer service in variety of sectors in Tanzania. I believe there could be a better way to engage ourselves in constructive dialogue & transfer of certain knowledge/skills to each other. I have know Kenyan in different ways from aggressiveness to Nigerian way of dealing with stuff but zote ni talent za mtu. A country like USA has a center which train I.T crackers and hackers and who are later put on competitive platform to find the best crackers. Guess what....only the best are hired by their Government and/or several wings of Government. I believe we can learn from each other's failures & successes to improve our respective countries. Who ever thought a tiny country like Rwanda would emerge to be an ICT Hub of Africa if not a bigger part of Africa. We can learn through our neighbours and great thumbs to Honorable Kagame for his stands and sense of direction to his cabinet when it comes to country's improvement and development. The good thing about Tanzania so far is that we have no internal inter-tribal wars, Tarime tu ndio mara nyingi panaleta taabu sana maana Wakuria wale sime nje nje.

From Rwanda yes they are people of action, well displined and not braggers!

just by the sheer cargo volume numbers handled by the mombasa seaport would show just how small the tanzanian seaport is. the kenyan port handle twice the number of cargo as the tanzanian port(16million tonnes in 2007 while the dar port handled 7million tones in the same year) and the kenyan port clears the cargo faster than its tanzanian counterpart the average cargo vessel turnaround in the kilindini seaport is 3 days compare that to tanzania's 5 days!!!

it takes cargo 6 days to leave the port of mombasa. the mombasa port runs 24/7 because it has an automated system. in 2010 the automation process will be complete and the mombasa port will be operating paperless. what about the dar port???

the dar port has 11 deep sea berths while the kenya port has 16 deep see berths!!!!

the mombasa port expansion will be complete in 2015.

plans are already underway for the northern corridor which will include another seaport in lamu, a free trade zone, a standard gauge railway line interconnecting kenyan cities ethiopia and sudan and a highway is already being built connecting ethiopia and kenya which will later connect to the lamu port.

tanzania port will take dacades before it ever catches up with the kenyan port

dont forget the fact that it is cheaper to ship via the mombasa port than the dar port.

anyway if you think i am making this stuff up then read this article and realise why you are a dumbass for what you said and why tanzania seport is waaay inferior to its kenyan counterpart.

read: http://allafrica.com/stories/200911100312.html

as smatta said, tanzanians are lazy all you people do is empty talk

You ****, learn to read within the lines we had three well functioning ports till 2000 when others capacities went down! And when you talk of plans, everyone has a plan so lets wait and see which one comes first and stop your nonsense! By the way i won't be suprized to find out the figures being exaggerated, since *****like to elevate themselves as your Nationmedia does to save the butts of Kikuyus! As right now Kenya is the land of Propaganda that serves the interest of the few Kikuyus like those of TransCentury Plc and the rest!

Gezaulole, this article is very true and not biased at all! The writer has done a great job! Kudos Rasna! Tanzania is blessed with alot of resources, but we are just sitting on them.

Kwa kweli we do suck in services - the hospitality industry included - take it from somebody who has visited most of the so-called 5 stars in Tanzania!

Who hasn't walked into an office to be greeted by a gum chewing receptionist, completely ignoring you because she's too busy on the phone with her shoga going on about how "alichuna buzi" the night before.

The first time I visited Kenya I was completely lost for words! These guys really do know the meaning of customer care and service - yaani even South Africans hawaoni ndani!

Here is another article, comparing Tanzania with another country - http://saharasoulfood.wordpress.com/2009/10/28/my-experience-in-india/ - not necessarily Kenya.

Why can't we take constructive criticism? Let us take these criticisms positively and as a challenge and act on them. Kwa kweli, we need to pull up our socks!

Rasna, thank you for the wake up call!!

Integration is a positive good ,anybody who states otherwise is living in fools paradise.Tatizo na Provincials wa bongo they cant see beyond manzese-tandale.Jamani vueni hizo colonial tinted miwani mnatia aibu!

but not at that speed our people need to be prepared, you have to bear in mind what these people are real looking for is our resources, specifiaclly land

Tingting, nimekupenda! You said it so well, we do need each other - irrespective of our differences etc!

how about i just admit that the dar port is and has always been superior than the mombasa port? that is what you are trying to say right?

does that make you feel happy, warm and fuzzy?

What level of integration?

Sisemi watanzania hatuna matatizo, wala hatuhitaji kujifunza, no. Ila tusijifunze kutoka kwa hawa choka mbaya wakenya, they r just desperate predators, who want to use us as a stepping stone.

you are simply a fool it is like two mental disturbed guys and one has recovering a bit and laughing at his fellow and telling him, "dude you are waaaaay worse than me"! Smart people ask themselves which of these two is the size of Durban port in capacity wise? if not, why? I hope in this new year you will change your unpragmatic way of seeing things!

Yo dude, you keep comparing us to the SOUTH so much, is Tz by any chance SA, I would like you Gu to answer me this. Na foreign teachers wa Botswana wengi wametoka wapi? guess you cnt answer Smatta this. And FYI, am not fully Kenyan, am Tanzanian from my mothers side, and probably will my kids coz i see myself marrying ma Tanzanian fiance. So stop embracing these stupid borders so much because they will limit your ability as a young, hopefully educated man.
Have a great new year Fam.

i have been to kenye, and i have studied with kenyens i hve never seen uggly women before. Kenyan women must be the world's ugliest women. So kenyans marrying tanzanian women is due to lack of choice back home. I mean how can you spend the rest of your life with such an uggly creature. Photos to follow

As usual you go bragging again! Never asked you of how many Kenyans are in Botswana and never told ya of how many Tanzanians are there (its not important to me)! When will you end your bragging brotha? if Kenyans work in Botswana why not in Kenya and produce that difference you need to move that country? did you use your tax money to produce skilled and competent people to go and work in another country? If yes, can you prove to me that you got plenty and in excess to ship some of those skilled workers to Botswana? been to Botswana and i saw many Kenyans there are working as teachers! So tell me, don't you lack teachers back home? as the way i know, some time before Kibaki anounced about 6000 were needed!
This is what i have all along tried to explain to you guys, you are no way better and at least you are getting to understand me now unknowingly! stop this Nationalism and be humble and calm down you will understand my point, i am a good person and very knowledgable indeed!

Please Note: I don't care which Nationality you are! you don't need to tell me where are you from to prove your point! Never told you where am i from?

I always wonder TZ is almost twice the size of Kenya and has more resources and yet the size of Kenya's economy is twice that of Tanzania. What happened? It should be the other way round.

I always wonder of all the years Kenya butt licking the British and Boers while the rest of Africa colonized plus much assistance you are here competing with that small Tanzanian economy! you should be at least the size of SA economically! What happened i thought you were darling of Britons? is that the prize you got after all that betrayal of fellow Africans?
