Uzi umekwenda kurasa tatu bado hamjaleta chochote wazembe tu.
The Irony of it all, Kenya's SGR tendering was closed tendering, yet details of the rail are public knowledge.. Tanzania's SGR tendering was open tendering, yet details of the rail are what politicians tell people in conferences..
I'll be posting screenshots of some of the details I deem relevant - Found these documents on NEMA government website... I have like 20 documents touching on almost all public projects worth noting about including details of Mombas port expansion, first 3 berths in Lamu, Lapsset projects, Gas plants, Solar plant...etc
Anyway, the ESIA report for SGR phase 1 is abit boring, too much theory for my taste.... But here are some screenshots for phase 1. If any critique of Keny's SGR had bothered to read the damn document, alot of time wasted and news articles written talking about the SGR would have been saved.

From the next two screeshot covering on Project description and number of locomotives, you can see that 56 Freight Trains will be deployed in the line in the short term period. Thats atleast 22 trains leaving Mombasa Everyday. Right now as we speak there are 7 daily freight trains hauling some 700 TEUs per day from Mombasa, the plan is to have 14 trains by Dec this year....
And you can also see that the long term goal when the rail is complete is to Have 100 freight trains operate on Kenyan soil....

Ok, you can see that the SGR official construction timeline was to end in 2018 June but because it was bieng built simultaneously in all senction, they managed to finish like 7 months ahead of schedule..
Remember this ESIA document was submitted to NEMA back in 2012 when no construction had begun. The projected freight volume by 2023 (5 years after finishing construction) is only 12.7 million tonnes p.a.... So why the hell is every critic of the SGR talking like if the SGR has failed when its performing just fine according to what was in the project description all along...
According to current performance, it is projected that the SGR will do 8 Million tonnes(give or take) in 2019, you want to tell me that from 2020,2021,2022 up to 2023 the SGR would not have reached beyond 13 million tonnes?
BY 2028 is when the rail is projected to be carrying 21.6 Million tonnes, this is when it will require electrification and change of locomotive engine if we way want to carry more cargo on the same line..

The international score uses six key dimensions to benchmark countries' performance and also displays the derived overall LPI index. The scorecard allows comparisons with the world (with the option to display world's best performer) and with the region or income group (with the option to display the region’s or income group's best performer) on the six indicators and the overall LPI index.
The logistics performance (LPI) is the weighted average of the country scores on the six key dimensions:
1) Efficiency of the clearance process (i.e., speed, simplicity and predictability of formalities) by border control agencies, including customs;
2) Quality of trade and transport related infrastructure (e.g., ports, railroads, roads, information technology);
3) Ease of arranging competitively priced shipments;
4) Competence and quality of logistics services (e.g., transport operators, customs brokers);
5) Ability to track and trace consignments;
6) Timeliness of shipments in reaching destination within the scheduled or expected delivery time.
The scorecards demonstrates comparative performance of all countries (world), regional and income groups.
