Sio kweli.
Kulikuwa kuna sababu kwa nini J.K. Nyerere alitaka tuimbe "Zidumu fikra za Mwenyekiti..." Maana yake fikra zingine hazikaribishwi.
Hadithi za kina Mzee Bomani ni historia potofu ambazo anaweza kuhadithia wasioelewa kilichojiri tu. Ukimuuliza Mzee Bomani maoni yake kuhusu Nyerere ni kumpelekea ngedere kesi ya nyani. Hawa wote ndio watendaji, "ndio-mzee," chinja-chinja wa kisiasa na kimatendo katika mkoba wa vifaa vya J.K. Nyerere.
Na, hata kusema J.K. Nyerere haambiliki ni kupendezesha lugha tu. J.K. Nyerere alikuwa nduli wa mawazo, kama sio nduli. Alitumia dola kushughulikia waliotofautiana nae (4). Aliyethubutu kubisha aidha alifungiwa kijijini ( Balozi Kassanga Tumbo (1) au jela (Chief Justice Wolfango Dourado ( 3 ), Abdallah Said Fundikira, Mwinyijuma Othuman Upindo, na James Mapalala (2), kufukuzishwa nchini (Waziri Kambona), kufukuzwa kazi (Rais Jumbe) na orodha inaendelea na kuendelea na kuendelea....(Kassim Hanga, Makamu wa Rais wa Zanzibar, na walinzi wake; Waziri Abdulrahman Mohamed Babu (5), na Wabunge Joseph Kasela Bantu na Mbunge Eli Anangisye, aliyekamatwa na kufungwa bila mashitaka baada ya kuchangia mjadala wa kikao cha Bajeti Bungeni, 1968 ( 6).
Kusema J.K. Nyerere alikuwa ana hoja kali sana kiasi kwamba hakukuwa na wengi wanaoweza kujadiliana nae ni kituko kwa sababu inamaanisha watu wote walikuwa watupu ila Nyerere na wachache fulani. Huku ni kupumbazika kulikotokana na kuleweshwa propaganda. Toka mdogo unaimbishwa nyimbo:
"Kambona, kaolewa!
Wapi? Huko Ulaya
Kambona, kaolewa!
Wapi? Huko Ulaya
Na nani ? Waingereza"
Ni lazima upumbazike. Hata mimi utotoni nilipumbazika. Kuja ukubwani nakuja kuambiwa eti Kambona alilazimika kuingia mitini kwa sababu alitofautiana mawazo ya mfumo wa kiuchumi. Hebu angalia hilo ndugu yangu. Sio nduli wa mawazo huyo J.K. Nyerere? Binadamu kweli unamfunga Jaji Mkuu mstaafu wa Zanzibar kwa sababu ametoa hotuba kama mgeni mwalikwa kwenye mkutano wa Tanganyika Law Society kujadili kuboresha na kubadili Katiba! (3) Huyu Muasisi Marehemu J.K. Nyerere utasema kweli sio nduli wa mawazo? Eti, "ilibidi ujenge hoja barabara." Ukipumbazwa unaweza kuamini ya ajabu!
Rev. Kishoka, kama nimetoka nje ya mada ni katika kurekebisha historia inayopotoshwa hapa. Nina marafiki mababa zao wameuawa baada ya kuugulia kwenye vyumba vya giza Oysterbay Polisi baada ya kuswekwa miaka bila mashitaka. Umenikamata nishitaki, usiniweke niugue kisukari na magonjwa ya moyo kwenye chumba cha giza polisi, nikitoka nakaa kidogo nakufa!
