there are more than ten rigging ways but I will only touch on four which I consider pervasive and most damaging to the legitimacy of our elections

the first is sneaking in polling booths cast votes in favour of ccm

this is still happening in least monitored areas where voters trust the system to do the right thing.

we have seen government vehicles in the last election caught redhanded stashed to the rim with cast votes in favour of ccm

the cure of this malady is forming vigilantes who will sit outside polling booths till election results are published there and photos taken and sent to all the websites available just to make sure none is gonna temper with the published results thereafter

the second rigging is bribing the political party agents to sign the verdict in favour of the ruling party which are wholly disconnected with counted votes

keeping vigil on election night will do away with the moneybags robbing voters their constitutional rights to choose the leaders they trust

it is less common in polling stations because of the level of transparency there and the fewer number of votes need tallying make falsification most likely if political parties' agents have been bribed but otherwise it is almost impossible to effect it

that leave constituent and national level as the most virulent venues for falsified tallied results save for division level when it comes for councilors which is not the focus of this discourse today

at national level, forged signatures of tallied results have been raised as the Tandahimba presidential count revealed in 2015 forcing NEC to flip the results to Lowassa despite announcing ccm has triumphed....

Tandahimba forms we saw on the internet and widely circulated was not the same one NEC deployed to declare CCM triumphant in a constituency they were soundly beaten

Ukawa claims many presidential constituent forms were falsified, forged and re-tallied to favour CCM ironically despite the Tandahimba situation and NEC is still sitting on those complaints and still brag the last general election was the most free, fair and transparent in history!

all parliamentary election disputes regardless of political parties claiming victimization there were clear mistrust against election supervisors whom they felt had abused their positions to announce falsified results

similar anger was expressed in division and village levels that falsified results culminated unto an election farce

arraigning such electoral malpractices require a cocktail of countermeasures
