from over-taxation to BOT cash transfer coupled with unproductive procurement decisions like plane purchases among others not excluding payment of unbridled external debt are bleeding white the economy and bringing it to its knees!

the litmus test to government efforts to arraign on local lending will be fully tested when BOT stops dishing out government bonds and treasury bills at exorbitant borrowing rates triggering hikes on local borrowing and lending rates on money markets

the regime claims public meetings had rejected a price hike but EWURA went on to ignore public recommendations. the question has to be how did the government came to know of public input unless it was fully involved?

the Tanesco boss is incompetent and was exploiting his position as a launchpad for a political career: could that have been used to dismiss him i would not be writing this..................but now i have to question the reasons and not the impact of the decision

the decision to gradually hike electrical tariffs was made a couple of years ago after Tanesco asked to raise them for more than 100% and that request was in principal acceded to but modified to what was claimed to ease the burden

the immediate regime was eager to cushion off the negative effects of official graft emanating from unfair tariff bills imposed on Tanesco in particular the pernicious capacity charges which have left tanesco partly bankrupted and incapable of carrying out its mandatory duties

the reasons used to kick out the Tanesco boss were apt to dismiss the ewura boss while the tanesco boss was supposed to be dismissed for failing to arraign on runaway costs within his Tanesco via internal reforms culminating on the requested hiking of electrical bills

the kagera earthquake victims deserve compensation for a natural calamity................we compensate those hard done by wild animals why not earthquake just to aid them picking themselves up..........many countries help directly the victims and claiming the otherwise is insincere.......
