I have gone through Jenerali Ulimwengu's plea to indict Kikwete on constitutional impasse but unless the law behind constitutional reforms is successfully litigated as unconstitutional Kikwete has done no wrong!
Constitutional reforms law was an ordinary law empowered to change the mother law which in itself was against clear provisions of the constitution.
Furthermore, the Warioba commission and the constituent assembly were unconstitutional bodies but were vested with powers to tear apart the constitution!
These are the issues first to be settled in courts then once they have been established beyond reasonable doubt one can ponder whether the Kikwete administration has a criminal negligence allegations to answer before a court of law.
In short, Ulimwengu's plea is premature and unnecessary distraction. He could have secured embers of a kick in our media but is ineffectual to show a way forward.

True! The leadership style has slightly been altered giving the incumbent some space to end his honeymoon but nothing more.
The biggest problem we have is historical amnesia.
We seldom remember where we are coming from, where we are and where we are going in relation to where we were supposed to be heading.
As a result without justification we easily trust failed hands again and again by claiming they are outsiders while they are inveterate insiders.
These political imposters blame their past bosses but records clearly show they are where they are because they were impenitent bootlickers of their former bosses! You can talk of loyalty gone awry!
Unless we expose their hypocrisy we will be condoning their ulterior motives of deceit.

Mkapa and his hosts are strange bedfellows. Yesterday the gathering was meant to promote good governance but trusting the unsteady hands of Mkapa proves beyond reasonable doubt that the originators have forgotten how Mkapa has sabotaged the rule of law not only during his tenure but even thereafter.
Mkapa's parting shot was a mockery of good governance and the originators must take full responsibility. How can they justify curbing freedom of speech if the rulers of the day judge the input is more or less a complaint than suggestions. Are we lawfully forbidden to complain when we are dissatisfied with the direction the nation is heading under these shaky hands?

I have taken effort to get a passport of recently and was surprised to learn the whole process is highly centralized!
All international passports are processed in Dar while in the regions are doing secretarial duties. As a result of this, Kurasini office is overwhelmed and long queues result paving way for unscrupulous middlemen to act as conduits of corruption.
Solution is devolution to the regional office then death of corrupt practices is achieved.
I know conservative view will claim control will be compromised but that will be an insult to those principal officers in regional office.

Yesterday Mkapa owned up to the failures of privatization hoping to receive accolades like Nyerere when during retirement owned up to failures of ujamaa policies but there are fundamental differences between those failures.
Nyerere's mea culpa were out of good intentions to help his country moving forward but Mkapa's were intentional to fleece our coffers.
So history will always be kind to Nyerere because he was a selfless leader but will always excoriate Mkapa for insatiable appetite to enrich himself and his few cronies.
So Mkapa is really confirming what we already knew when he left office without blurting out to all and sundries how much he had amassed during ten years of looting public coffers.

This budget is an economic plan, it's not just another budget. Tanzanians know that our future depends on how well we continue to grow and shape our economy as we transition from the stagnant tourism and unprecedented gold mining investment boom to a stronger, more diverse and new economy.
We know that our future, our jobs and those our children depend on it. This is very sensitive time. Tanzania scholars have clearly said we must have an economic plan to make this economic transition a success.
This economic plan will be the foundation on which we can build a brighter, more secure future, in a stronger and new economy with more jobs. So we have to ask and challenge ourselves, what is our government economic plan.? And not this blah blah..

You are still wrong, but it's not your problem! I wonder what kind of social studies you learn at college. May be you should go back to college and learn a thing that Africa is not a continent that facing the same social problems. Africa is a continent with different countries inside it, with the greatest genetic diversity in humans. And every country has its own challenges, difficulties, problems and even strategies to overcome poverty.
Let me ask you, is it right to say Europeans are facing financial crisis just because Greece, Cyprus, Spain and Portugal have all been dragged down to the worst pit solution orchestrated by the IMF? If this is not right for Europeans, why not for Africans?
You cannot compare our problems that we are facing as a country with Equatorial Guinea, just because we are on the same continent called Africa.
Or you cannot compare the development strategies of Zambia and Burundi for the case of being the third world countries.
It's quite false to lump us all together. Tanzania will remains Tanzania as a country, and Africa will remains continent geographically.

Thank you, next time be specific. You should research this country and see the infrastructure we have built, see the development we have made thus far and go back and educate your fellow countrymen on what's happening on this soil. Tanzania for instance is a country endowed with gifted nature and by far the most peaceful country in Africa. Let alone the beautiful natural resources of the country. Africa is a continent with different countries that facing different problems.

Can I just be allowed to chip in my two cents with reference to the question Masunga Maziku has posed above? I wonder, though, if he is honestly implying that he doesn't know/understand what a system is...I dont think so! Let me point out to him that when the word system is mentioned here, what is being referred to is our system of government under CCM.
A state governance system encompasses the mechanism for determining state policies and the means by which those policies are enforced. A form of state governance refers to the set of political systems and institutions that make up the organisation of a specific government. In our case here, both system and form need complete overhaul and this one man show is inadequate and a nonstarter.
Magufuli's efforts are bound to fail for just one reason, he is dancing to the tune that has yet to be played...system and form are bigger than an individual. By his actions he has proved that he is more of a facilitator than a leader. He lacks vision and creativity and is more driven by passion and emotion rather than sagacity, discernment and insight, the constituent elements of good leadership.

Tanzanians in Tanzania love their president. At least three or four nations had president like the Tanzanian president, Africa would be better off. Any political brokers whatever that threatened the development and security of our country must be crushed without hesitation.
