I agree with you! This is a shame for Africa particularly Tanzania. For a sustainable country, whoever get voted, the good governance should be guaranteed by the government itself and cohesive apparatus should work for all citizens and for all political parties, not for a powerful man.
@Masunga glad to welcome you back in this abrasive discourse

Strong and focused!
Brother you need prayers to change your mind. A change of mind is inescapable for sure. How strong and focused this leadership is? The leadership which its leaders do not have faith in their sectors, for instance, When they are sick and their families they run to India, South Africa etc. Let heal our country and not fooling ourselves.

Not really! I know enough to make me unshakable! Note that, for the case of India or south Africa, it is because of the referral they get from Muhimbili Hospital.

Rutashubanyuma have said it all, that the Tanzanian leadership need a critical self evaluation.
Critical self evaluation? This leadership we have? Are you really sure you know what you are talking about? For your information what this leadership really needs is a timely kick...a timely kick out of Office much sooner than later. Anything shorter than that wont save our once beloved country from carnage, affliction and downfall all of which, I must say, look imminent.
Finally I do agree with his view on the Magufuli administration.
Though the saying better late than never does work at times, still the time it took for you to come round and see the light, has left me spell-bound! Are you sure you do fully understand Rutashubanyuma's views on Magufuli's leadership? I doubt it...I really doubt it Masunga Maziku. This leadership cannot do self evaluation, it is not capable of doing that for, as I have said before, it lacks the shrewdness, discernment and keen insight.

A timely kick out? Don't worry, 2020 is next door and I wait to see your words standing!
By the way, do you mean to tell us that today's government has no Monitoring and Evaluation system in place?

Rutashubanyuma ,tell me you ain't fearing Magufuli?i can see it in most of your statements,YES i do agree with you that Magu just like other human beings obvious is not 100% correct, neither you,but for the mean time lets give him a "probation" of at least 6 months, then criticism can be warmly welcomed and applauded as you wish.
Please share with us the results of your probation because six months passed long time ago

Can I just be allowed to chip in my two cents with reference to the question Masunga Maziku has posed above? I wonder, though, if he is honestly implying that he doesn't know/understand what a system is...I dont think so! Let me point out to him that when the word system is mentioned here, what is being referred to is our system of government under CCM.

A state governance system encompasses the mechanism for determining state policies and the means by which those policies are enforced. A form of state governance refers to the set of political systems and institutions that make up the organisation of a specific government. In our case here, both system and form need complete overhaul and this one man show is inadequate and a nonstarter.

Magufuli's efforts are bound to fail for just one reason, he is dancing to the tune that has yet to be played...system and form are bigger than an individual. By his actions he has proved that he is more of a facilitator than a leader. He lacks vision and creativity and is more driven by passion and emotion rather than sagacity, discernment and insight, the constituent elements of good leadership.
This prediction is turning out to be very true

We have always been long on applauding both the effort and intent but short in appraising the effectiveness of drastic measures declared and vigorously pursued by our post colonial administrations.

Nyerere was lauded for Azimio la Arusha but he later admitted the policy tools and directions were faulty, and economic decimation was all too much of an eyesore to all of us. The legacy of Nyerere administration will always be soiled by sheer levels of economic mismanagements despite genuine efforts to address causes and effects of our underdevelopment.

Mwinyi administration was accorded a red carpet reverence for the frantic effort to undo "Nyerereism" via the antithesis of the Zanzibar declaration but we all know better the indigenization of our economy took a back seat as the economy was placed in grubby hands of aliens.

Mkapa administration cemented official graft while its successive administration of Jakaya Kikwete approved it in all its pernicious forms.

Then comes Magufuli administration while a couple of weeks in office seems lacking ideas of how to reform the government, and has so far been generating plenty of heat but very little substance.

Sweeteners may taste good on mouth but in the stomach are likely to foment gastric juice notorious for corroding the intestines. What this nation needs is reforms on good governance where accountability has been sacrificed at the altar of nepotism and sycophancy.

We need to restore pre-independence accountability if we are to reach where a president has no business to snatch duties and responsibilities of his juniors but to oversee them.

For start, he needs to acknowledge NEC ought to be fully investigated by an impartial commission how it conducted this election despite its numerous vain claims that the election was free, fair and transparent. We need a legislation to empower that commission but we also need the same commission to investigate thoroughly how this very partisan police interfered with the electoral process. We cannot face another election where UKAWA are adamant they were shortchanged and we have a president who may or may not be a squatter at our IKULU pretending to bribe us with "peremende" and expect for a different result.

On government splurge, we need concrete policies and pieces of legislation like capping staff emoluments based on a ratio of recurrent expenditure. What I have seen; so far, is a battle of nomenclatures which past administrations fought with equal zeal but lost because they never identified policy tools to do it.
