"My age" a factor because succession politics have preferred candidates ....so to remove serious competitors one needs to refine the resumes...since Mwinyi Jr. is a preferred candidate therefore "my age" becomes a cutlass against doddering mainlanders who may be eyeing the big job...just remember in Tanzania, Kings are made but if they attempt to coronate themselves - a gratitude of mass following - they are rigged because they pose a threat to the hitherto status quo... the less dependent on the status quo to advance their political careers, the more threat they pose to it...
Victims of this paradigm include Malecela, Kolimba, Mrema, Maalim Seif, Dr Slaa, Lowassa and now who else....Tundu Lissu. Political party affiliations have nothing to do with this paradigm of politics of affection...

We have already projected the 2025 succession politics evolve around stratification of the Mwinyi dynasty so any mainlander who is a serious threat will be shown the door...why Mwinyi Jr.?

Will the dynamics shift if Mwinyi Sr is a goner before 2025? Believe nothing will change...CCM succession politics demands Muslim~ RC nexus of power alternations but also a politically weaker replacement who doesn't have a popular base to threaten retirees which Mwinyi Jr fits like a hand to a glove... but a demise of the two protagonists is the chief game changer because the deputy will take over, and she will be in no mood to hand over power to a junior let alone from the same backyard...or if ..God forbids....
What about second term in Zenj? Zenj is just a stopgap that grooms the mainlanders to accept a rare Zenj in topmost job.. his daddy passed through similar meandering and history loves replication and duplication...whoever said history repeats itself may have unwittingly have this situation in mind...
In fact, the perpetrators will anchor on honouring Nyerere legacy of succession politics....that a hollow reincarnation of Nyerere may gain some traction...
From this analysis we humbly differ with those who still consider there will be constitutional changes to create our own KAMUZU BANDA... a position we supported till CCM parted ways with 'apende asipende" bandwagon led by now vanquished Kessy...the draconian fall of Kessy showed to us no Kamuzu Banda is in the pipeline...as far as we are concerned, Kessy political downfall closed that debate once and for all...
