Well, there is no need to have anti phonography legislation in Tanzania, so much as the aforementioned provisions of Uganda are covered in our Cybercrime Act needless to say, they are substantially in pari materia.Cybercrime act is not anti pornography act !!! ( even if it may cover pornography and related offences )
There would be no merit of enacting another law to specifically cover ponography while the provisions of Sec 13 and 14 of the Cyber Crimes Act clearly prohibit and provide penalty for the offences related to ponography!Cybercrime act is not anti pornography act !!! ( even if it may cover pornography and related offences )
Thanks too much.. I understand correctly all issues on that matter. May you please tell me if a person looking porn sites is committing a punishable offence under cybercrime act? There would be no merit of enacting another law to specifically cover ponography while the provisions of Sec 13 and 14 of the Cyber Crimes Act clearly prohibit and provide penalty for the offences related to ponography!

Section 13 of the Cyber Crimes Act specifically covers child ponography in which under paragraph (b) it reads "a person shall not make available or facilitate the access of child pornography through a computer system." Through a thorough interpretation of this provision it is of my great belief that your concern has been answered (emphasis is mine). Thanks too much.. I understand correctly all issues on that matter. May you please tell me if a person looking porn sites is committing a punishable offence under cybercrime act?
