No dude, personally I'll be the last person to rejoice coz of having USA's presidents visiting Tz, it makes no difference of course. Bill came, nothing changed except the traffic jam, Bush came, we went back home with empty stomachs and this time around the LUO is coming nothing will change, we'll go home with empty stomachs as usual. I don't believe that having many "foreign" presidents flooding in Tz will in anyway lift the daily life of a common mwananchi. That's it buddy!!!
It is saddening to learn that most of us can't comprehend events and spot their correct translation. That Bush and Clinton came and people went back home with empty stomachs is a bag of bullsh*t. Were they supposed to have packed cartons of food for Tanzanians? Leo hii asiyeona kwamba you need aid as a poor country to exploit even your own highly valuable but rather raw resources basi ni kipofu!! Tunachohitaji Wa TZ ni kuelimika ili tujue mchango wa misaada inayotoka kokote na jinsi ya kuipokea/kuitumia kwa manufaa. Gas - do we have the required resources to refine it?? Tanzanite tu hapo imetushinda. Political stability + Global repositioning are key elements to developments. Mbona hatukumbuki kwamba Siasa ni Uchumi!!! What JK is doing is Global marketing to reposition the country. The coming of Obama, Bush, Clinton or whoever should not be viewed as a one way ticket to success overnight HAPANA!!! It is probably in the next decade or so that results, depending on how our human resources steer the events, that we will see results. But for sure, it is a step in the right direction. It is a global nod that the state is accepted. Tusikae tu na kuishia kukimbilia UK na US kuishi huko badala ya kurudi na kujenga uchumi - kutoa mchango wa mawazo kwa ujuzi tuliopata. Hilo ndio tatizo letu Wa TZ. Whoever gets the opportunity deserts the country and opts to go and slave outside the continent - that has to change. My submission.
Waambie bro. Safari ndo ishaanza. No turning back!!!!Big no brother! There is positive economic implication of the visit. Just take a simple example: How many world newspapers, Tv, radio, websites and blogs will mention Tanzania for the first time for good? don't you believe this will encourage foreign direct investments due to regained confidence? By the way, take a simple look on the 700 people accompanying the Luo, how much dollars will be left in Tanzanian hotels? For sure this is an opportunity. You may think former US presidents visited Tanzania brought nothing to our economy, but this is again to true! May be it is a reason the GDP of Tanzania is now $73.5 billion (PPP) compared to the so called "biggest in East Africa" which is now $76.07 billion (source: CIA World Factbook). Go Tanzania, if 2015 we get excellent president who smashes corruption and the emerging religious cracks, in 2025 we will be leading in eastern and Central Africa.
God bless Tanzania, Beautiful country, beautiful people!

these people have historical amnesia...long a mere footnote in the global and regional geopolitics, tanzania is suddenly drawing great interest from the world heavyweights. This development begs two questions: What exactly informs this interest and how will it change the geopolitical dynamics in the region ?
